5 hard punches that dont land are not five hard punches..:rofl They were hard? says who? It looked like a arm punch flurry or 1,2 rapid fire to me. There was no leverage in any of them shots...:rofl
Firstof all, absolutely none of the guys you mentioned is Eastern European. Froch and Calzaghe are British, which is pretty comfortably western European last time I checked. Secondly Andrade is Mexican. Third, Roy was far past his prime. 4th Bernard knocked Calzaghe down and made him look like an amatuer. 5th, Froch got outboxed pretty much the whole fight against Jermaine Taylor and won with a last second knock out. Jeff Lacy would be the only fighter that I'd qualify as getting a beating. And I repeat none of the guys you listed are of Eastern European descent. Adamek needed 3 knock downs to squeak by Cunningham. And I still felt like it was a robbery. So im supposed to respect a fighter who doesnt fight the best and instead fights journeymen? Sorry, we have different standards where im from. A guy like Dawson couldnt take 2 years off fighting journeymen and still be respected.
How did I contradict myself? I said I dont care where a fighters from. I correctly pointed out that most European fighters are crude and lack proper technique. Calzaghe, Hatton, and Kessler for all their skill are massively flawed thats why they get exposed whenever they fight a true top level boxer. ****, Calzaghe was knocked down and made to look silly by a 43 year old. Jermaine Taylor hasnt been considered elite since 2007 when he barely nickeda split decision against a welterweight Corey Spinks. And still froch was losing the fight comfortably until Taylor gassed.
How did I dodge the question. Yes he did try to get a stoppage against Roy and he failed. The ref did not jump in during one of his flurries like in the UK. What is your point, I stated that he could not stop Roy. Its a difference between what you want to do and what you can do.
Dude, I'm trying to inform you why the vast majority of fans think you are wrong (Kessler wins: 68 votes; Dawson wins: 37 votes) and that reality is different from how you see it. You clearly do not even want to look at the other side of the coin for a second. That is how it is then. Let's hope they fight at some point in time.
LOL. Again this warped perception of reality. Taylor is elite when he beats US or European fighters. When he loses to US fighters he is still elite (just so we can transfer the 'elite' to the next guy)., but if he loses or even if a fight is made with a european fighter he may lose to - then he is no more than an average fighter. Talk about constructed reality. 1 Loses to a US fighter: is elite when he beats Eupeans
The poll doesn`t lie! some just like to talk alot! how many diffirent posters are on this thread:nut...
My point was I don't believe he wanted to stop Roy. They were both quite buddy-buddy away from the Ring, before and after the fight. And I don't believe he was trying to humiliate him either during the last two or three rounds, when he probably COULD have stopped him by turning up the heat. Instead, the show-boating was an excuse not to finish him off. He was laughing and talkintg to Roy and Roy was smiling back. Joe has said clearly that Roy was the better man when he was prime, and this fight was a money affair for both of them. Watch the fight again.
So Taylor was still considered elite when Pavlik knocked him out and then outboxed him in the rematch. Surrre kid surrre. Tell you what, when Kessler beats someone other then journeymen, maybe say a Bute and Froch back to back, then I'll consider him elite. You know why Dawson is considered elite? Because he beat accomplished fightrs. Kessler hasnt beaten any accomplished fighters.
dawson UD. i think he would make mikkel "the robot" kessler look bad. i respect kessler, i just think dawson has way too much talent and way too much in his arsenal for him. not to mention he's also bigger and faster with more natural ability. not a good matchup style wise for kessler.
You still don't get it, do you ? You say you don't care where a fighter is from. And in the very next sentence, you make a sweeping generalization about European fighters. If you can't grasp the contradiction, I can't help you.
Naw. Now your weak attempt at sarcasm is making you look lame. I'm European and I picked Dawson (earlier in this thread) over Kessler.
You are always good for a laugh. I will give you that. Now if that aint some conspiracy ****.. Could of should of would of.
Not all European fighters are crude. For instance when Lennox and Klitscko got with Steward they turned into extremely confident and savvy fighters. I think Khan because he got with Freddie Roach early will find similar success. This isnt a detraction of European fighters, but the fact that they dont have quality trainers to teach them how to box. They are basic. They get by on their size and strength, but up against an elite, they struggle. I call it how I sees it, dont like it, sucks for you. :hi:
