dan goosen marketing him to the wrong market most of his fights have being on the west coast hes not a west coast fighter.dawson should have more hometown fights to build up a following, its how ricky hatton was turned into a star first turn him into a hometown attraction.yank promoters are too lazy and just take big site fees regardless of location

LOL get out of here with that **** man winning something like 9 rounds is not a shut-out. It takes 12 rounds to win a shut-out.

Winning 9 or 10 rounds against very very old Tarver and 9 rounds over Johnson is not that impressive and you know what I had old man Hopkins winning more rounds off Tarver than Dawson in either fight and BHOP fought a younger Tarver than Dawson did.

Dawson was EXPECTED to take Johnson to school from the first fight and he struggled even though I had Dawson winning 8-4 he looked like **** at times.

    I need to rewatch Johnson-Dawson 1 and Tarver-Dawson 1 & 2. It's been awhile since I've seen them and I liked them.

    Two things..

    1) Lack of good opponents

175 is just a talentless division atm.. Except for Dawson i'd say there are 4 other ´big´ names: Tavoris Cloud, Jean Pascal, Zsolt Erdei and Karo Murat.

Even the divisions around him has been drained. In 168 we have Bute who's just about the only big name left other than the Super Six guys (who'll be fighting each other for another year). And we have Pavlik whom I personally dont present a threat at 168 or 175.. Left are we with the lesser names such as: Bika, Andrade, Miranda, Sartison, Taylor and Magee.

So basically it's just a sad time for him.

    2) Lack of excitement

What makes Pacquiao exciting is his style and fights, not his personality.
What makes Mayweather exciting is his personality, not his style.

Chad's style isn't really the most exciting (not for casual fans anyhow), nor is he the biggest trash talker. Basically what he needs to attract the fans, is a bit more "colour".

Personally I'm a big fan of Chad, but let's just face it, he's been put in the wrong place at the wrong time.

no he didn't come close to winning 12-0 man he won that fight like 9-3 at best and he wasn't really impressive Johnson even had his hands up at the end of the fight and two judges scored it 115-113

Let's not rewrite history here. Double standards in full effect.

What double standards lol? I'm not being biased because I'm a Chad fan bt I'm pretty sure he did shutout Johnson in the rematch. Now, I could be wrong and it's possible because I haven't seen that fight in awhile and I'm a better analyst than I was in November so I'll rewatch that fight to be sure. You could be right dude.

He's boring, has no personality, and only fights old men.

Fighting style is boring and he lacks power. That is a deadly mix of "I don't care".

People might think that he has power but he does not! He KOed bums but when the quality of opposition improved, his KO decreased sifgnificantly!

He was hitting Adamek like tons of punches and he was the one who was Knocked down.

Well what he could've done for his popularity between 2007 and 2010 is NOT fighting guys who were born in the decade of the
    - Kennedy Administration
    - Cuban Missile Crysis
    - construction of the Berlin Wall
    - Woodstock
    - Man first landing on Moon (if ever happened)

he dosen't need to change a damned thing..just keep winning..to hell with whoever wants him to change his style. He needs to just keep up the good work and listen to his trainer Eddie Mustafa, who want's him to keep the defensive style so he'll still have his marbles when he retires. Dawson is a winner, IMO..and he owns the lightheavyweight division. Afight between him and Hopkins would retire ol' "Babblin' Bernard".
