...yeah, Duck, son, you just do that - just show us all how good your chin really is!:yep

I am hyped for this fight; really hyped. Hope to see some Magic, of the Amir Khan variety, hopefully!:D

What do you think? Does Tarver have enough to K Dawson TFO?:think

Will Dawson play it safety first, relying on the predictable judges for the nod, if it's close?:think

Good to have you back Decebal!!!!!!
For the fight with Tarver I think it would take about a miracle for Tarver to pull something out of his ass to KO Dawson
    Diaconu>Tarver

    Diaconu

Man you make me laugh with him. Of all the guys to hug, honestly

Dawson should pull through this, Tarver wasn't impressive against Woods. I wouldn't advise him to stick his chin out just to prove a point though, its just shakey. All the more reason to box sensibly.

Tarver cannot win a decision against Dawson. None of the oldies can. It says so in the Boxing Bible. If it's close, Tarver loses. Tarver knows he will have to lay it on the line if he is to win. I'm not sure the money he's making from this fight is worth the "L" against Dawson at this stage, to him anyway....:think

Dawson will want to impress but more than anything, he'll want that "W", by any means, I think. He might go safety first, relying on the judges...:!:

EDIT: I think unless he's a bit lucky or takes risks, he won't KO Dawson...but I really hope he truly thinks otherwise.

Well TFFP your hatred for Diaconu is well documented and your views rarely hold any worth or sensibility, hence someone dedicating a thread to banning your ignorant ass

That was the first thing I tought of when I saw the quote. I'd think he would want to prove he can AVOID.... but that's just me...:D

I'm still to be convinced Tarver isn't confident he WILL win this. Maybe, though, he thinks fighting a really good fight against Dawson, win or lose, would put him back in the frame for some more big fights, say against Hopkins...no?:think

Well guess who crawled back from under their rock! :rofl

    Only kidding Decebal. :good

I actually give Tarver a decent chance. Tarver has enough power to put anyone from 175 on down in the world out, if he lands the right punch. Also, he has enough skill to land that punch on anybody in boxing, on a good night.

But Tarver has on and off nights (always on in rematches though), and is older and slower nowadays. Dawson is certainly more skilled than even a prime Tarver, and will probably decision him after a few rocky moments. But a brutal Tarver KO is a distinct possibility.

Off topic, I don't get your hate for Dawson...is it because he could clean out the whole 168 lb division in one night? :yep Or because he avoided your countryman Diaconu? Why do you dislike Bad Chad? :hey

I cannot see how it can be a lethargic fight, this one. Dawson could not afford to not make it a fight because Tarver would have enough to hustle him, I think. But Tarver would also hope to use Dawson's speed and fighting spirit against him. If Dawson goes down, Tarver will probably have enough to finish him, no?

Who was that guy though?

I don't hate Diaconu, I'm supposed to love European fighters. If I saw anything in him you could guarantee I'd be on his jock. Unfortunately I just don't see it, I can't even rate him above Tarver based on his last performance. What do you think he does well?

I saw a short, stocky guy that plods forward with average skill and terrible stamina. Good chin, okay power but it was overrated, I was expecting a huge power puncher the way people talked. I just thought he was average in most departments, which no redeeming quality such as insane power.

He hates Chad for the same reason I do....because he's a ****ing coward that wouldnt give Diaconu his proper shot. Diaconu did everything he could to make the fight and was ducked repeatedly. How would you have felt if say Cotto ducked Margarito or Taylor ducked Pavlik? Fact is these fighters EARNED their shot just as Adi has.

It's a legit reason then, because he did avoid Diaconu.

Still, you've got to consider the politics at work here: Diaconu does earn his shot, but a Tarver fight is for more money and--in the eyes of the American public (who pay Dawson's bills)--a bigger challenge. If you're Chad, do you take the lesser money fight for no reason?

Further, Diaconu also pulled out one time against Chad 2 weeks out of a fight, which only muddles the picture even more.
