TFFP he fought Henry with strep for christsakes. He was eager to fight and knew that he could still beat Henry sick which he did.

Plods forward? You must be ****ing blind

He is underrated in about every department which includes footwork, power, timing(counterpunching), and ring intelligence.

Just how many fights of his have you actually seen? honestly

Dawson should win this if Tarver doesn't catch him clean on the chin.A KO for Tarver wouldn't surprise me cuz Ducking Dawson is a KO waiting to happen but at the state in the career of Tarver can't see it happening.Dawson UD and sending Tarver into retirement and then looks to fight another past his prime fighter

Well, I've seen his destruction of Hoye, and then Henry.

I had not heard he was sick, it could be an explanation for how slow he looked - and man he BARELY won. Perhaps he'll look sharper next time I see him if that is the case, but I just can't imagine seeing anything too impressive from the guy. He just didn't look very talented at all.

Povetkin fought sick against Chambers, but there were still impressive qualities about him even though his performance suffered. Nothing got me even slightly enthused by The Shark, my excitement would probably be raised higher by a trip to the aquarium to see a real one.

Dawson would've had a career high payday against Adi, he's only making slightly more against Tarver. Fact is Dawson never had a legitimate reason to not fight. Dawson after pleading to have Diaconu removed as his mandatory, signed a contract stating that he would fight Adi which he again renegged on. If thats not blatant ducking I don't know what is

He was overtrained,he was sick, his dad was very sick(and still is,apparently it's cancer,he could have died around the Henry fight but got better it seems,he ain't got much left),the weight probably gave him issues as well

I'm rooting for Tarver in this one. After a boxing lesson he gave Adamek I was interested to see where Dawson goes. Sadly, he doesn't look so promising anymore.

Tarver by mid rounds KO please.

It was a good fight and yes he barely one but with all those problems and he still got the job done. The fight ws entertaining,if you didn't like it than Hopkins vs Calzaghe was a snoozer and Dawson vs Johnson was average(which they weren't)

Are you still pissed because Dawson dropped his WBC rather than fight your boy Diaconu?

The weight honestly gives him problems?

He's very short for his weight class, and he hardly looks cut out of stone in there. I find that hard to believe.

So the destruction of Hoye wasnt impressive? He cut the *******s face as if he had razor blades in his gloves in a matter of 3 rounds. Sure Hoye was shot right? The performance that Adi put on that night wouldve ruined about any top LHW. And that my friend is a healthy Diaconu....

It wasn't making weight for this figth but he was training for about 8 months in a row, training for the september fight with Dawson, then he had about a month or two off resting and healing then train again for Henry in march, the fight was postponed to april, even more training and all this time he had to keep his weiht down cuz he didn't know for sure when he was gonna fight. Not staying at his natural weight hurts any man especially somebody wha has to train too

And I don't know why everybody says Hoye was shot,he wasn't particulary old,he destroyed Segundo Mercado, beat Ricahrd Hall, outboxed Montell Griffin and the loss to Woods.Just a loss makes him shot?He was a solid contender

I don't want to ruin this for you, but he was hardly in blistering form was he? He got beaten up by Clinton Woods, and then I don't know what he did but I don't remember too much else before fighting The Shark...

Decent win nonetheless, but its not quite an indication the guy is going to rule the division just yet.

In light of this supposed illness I won't write him off as a no hoper completely, I'll see what he looks like again. But from where I'm sitting he hasn't shown the skill to match Dawson or numerous others nor is his list of victims inspiring, and he just struggled life and death with his best opponent who was only B- himself.
