VERY impressive performance last night should give him top spot. A fight with Calzaghe would do wonders for boxing. It would solidify JoCal's legacy with a win and elevate Dawson's career should he win.

It makes sense from a boxing standpoint and as regards to both men's legacies. But Calzaghe v Pavlik would make more money and what do you think Calzaghe is gonna go for?

I have to admit he was pretty fast, but TARVER'S defense kept him in there I think it could have been a draw , but judges don't score on things like defense, body shots, and ring generalship anymore, Where's Eugenia " Hawkeye" Williams when you need her?

Chad fought a great fight last night. But if you had never seen the fight and just came here you'd think he lost. Dawson never gets the credit he deserves. When he beat Adamek it was because Adamek was weight drained. When he beat Johnson Glen was robbed. When he beat Tarver he was shot. Does anyone here see the pattern? No matter what he does it's never enough people try to discredit Dawson and his wins. The guy is a young exciting and talented fighter but all he ever does is get bashed and say he's overrated but all he does is keep wining. It almost reminds of PBF and how he would get bashed here before and after every fight...pathetic.

Not sure why people dont give this kid more credit. I've had my eye on him for years and new he was the goods. People are trying to discredit all of his wins lately. Its bull****.

Really? I would of put a Dawson fight as being better for his legacy. He's an established LH with a few decent wins under his belt. The no.1 contender to Joe. Plus, I feel he's a considerably better fighter than Pavlik with a harder style for Calzaghe to beat.

Pavlik on the other hand will of only fought at LH once and it will depend on his manner of victory over Bhop, should he actually win. Now, he's not small or anything and in time will probably end up at 175 anyway, but to me, a Dawson win would mean more. But, i'm open to changing my mind based on how things pan out next week. If Pavlik destroys Hopkins, then i'll reverse my opinion.

Yep. He's being brought along nicely. We know he didn't beat prime versions of Johnson or Tarver but they were still good wins. Tarver had just outclassed Woods several months beforehand. Dawson is taking the right fights at this stage.

Dawson is the biggest ***** in boxing. he ducked his mandatory Diaconu several times and then pulled a Riddick Bowe by throwing away the WBC belt to fight 39 year old tarver. ugh the "top" fighters in the 175 division are just bloody awful.
