Chael Sonne interview with Ariel Helwani

He is an idiot if he really thinks the fights in Pride were worked! Silva was just a beast who was tearing though anyone and had amazing punch resistance with a crazy abilty to recover when hurt. Ask Rampage Jackson if his 2nd fight with Silva was a work!

Sonne is trying to compare the pride/Dream record of these fighters and is acting like they have struggled in the UFC because in Japan the fights were worked.

Is Sonne that ****ing dumb!

Cro Cop, Silva, Kid Dynamite, Gomi etc were all shot fighters by the time they joined UFC. doesnt take a genius to see this!

 

haha I laughed balls when he was apologizing about disrespecting Brazil, i actually thought he was serious until he says "If I had an idea that they had computers in brazil I wouldn't have said it"! haha Chael does cross the line as often as he can but thats the beauty of it. I seriously think he is a cartoon character.

 

Its SONNEN, and pride was good but dream sucks and the reason why japanese fighters besides yushin okami arent good in the UFC is because their wrestling sucks, what happened with gomi vs guida, demetrious johnson vs norifumi yamamoto, and cro cop has no more power who has he knocked out in the UFC? and Wanderlei is too old and needs to hang them up.

 

its not just the wrestling, its the drug testing too.

Chael is only funny because of his absurdity.

Chael claims he is an American Gangster, and threatens to take your picture and put it on the internet. Scary Stuff! That is a much stronger statement than Wanderlei saying he would kill Sonnen.

Chael believes a loss is a loss, no matter what, but considers his fight with Silva as a win. Even though Silva made him tap to a choke, which pretty much means Silva could have killed him. Yeah, loss by death is better than losing by points.

Chael talks like every fight to take place in Japan is fake, talks like he is a world beater, but has still lost to every Brazilian he has faced.

 

I don't get why people still like this ****.

The only thing absurd is the people who take Chael seriously. Chael is so far out there that those people obviously cannot comprehend his so very apparent schtick. This **** is a gimmick and he cannot possibly be anything but an act. Thing is Chael is such a good straight faced actor (politian training there) that alot of people can't see it for what it is......... a con, a joke, Chael plays the heel, it sells. Its brilliant. I don't agree with most of his claims but it gets people riled up so badly, its awesome.

 

He is funny, but he still gets too much props as a fighter and a person. He cheated and lost to an injured Anderson Silva.......

 

This guys one of the greatest. Very informative interview.
