Well, tbh they are right. Belfort doesn't deserve a shot really, he hasn't even fought in the UFC 185 division, he got his shot purely off the fact that he is a fan favourite and that people think he will do well. Maia on the other hand is proven at 185 and has a win over another top contender in Sonnen. Yes he did also lose to Marquardt but Marquardt has also lost to Sonnen himself.

Since all three of the top 185 lbers (Maia, Marquardt, Sonnen) have lost to one of the others recently it doesn't really matter who out of them got the shot. But Belfort didn't deserve it.

I think Sonnen is the right guy to beat Anderson Silva. Im pretty sure his takedowns are near unstoppable right now and his top game is just not good for the bottom guy. Sonnen smothers you and beats the ever loving crap out of you. We need a guy who is intimated by Silva and who isnt dumb enough to strike with him for long stretches like Henderson was. Silva cant stop a decent takedown to save his life from what ive seen.

I think Sonnen is hiliarious, he said he has a moral obligation to society to beat up Silva  and I couldn't agree more, I hope him or Vitor does it.

    Pretty much this...exactly.

I was the biggest Anderson Silva fan up until yesterday. The biggest! Loved all his fights. But, as someone who has been involved in martial arts for nearly 20 years and someone who believes very much in the traditional teachings of martial arts, what I saw last night was about as big a disgrace I've ever seen in combat sports, or even in a gym!

I don't know what Anderson has to do to "erase" yesterdays antics, but wow...this is some serious stuff.

    As a fan, I'm embarassed.

As a martial artist, I'm ashamed.
