Chael Sonnen talks his way back into a title shot. What about Hendo?

Let's be real here. Sonnen hasn't earned a title rematch against Anderson. He's used brilliant psychological tactics on the UFC, the media and the public to convince everyone that he deserves a rematch. If he pulls it off then I tip my hat to him. In my opinion he should be fighting a top tier middleweight. Stann was a good fighter but he wasn't top five and maybe not even top ten. I wouldn't mind seeing Sonnen rematch Anderson - but I'd much rather see Henderson get a second chance at him. If anyone in the world has earned a right - it's Dan Henderson. He knocked out Fedor to get his shot at the P4P crown. Let Hendo have that title shot, UFC.

The problem is that Henderson will probably never get a rematch because he's at the end of his career and if he beats Anderson - what then? He wouldn't defend the belt surely. He already stated he only wants the one Anderson Silva fight at middleweight. I suppose if Hendo won they could always have a rubber match. That doesn't sound so bad to me.

This would be a good match but the problem is that Hendo has already gone up to HW so it might give him problems to go back to 185. And besides that I see Spider's stand-up being vastly superior, still a good fight though.

Beekeeper don't be a mark. Hendo weighed in at 206Ibs - the man was never anywhere near heavyweight.

Sonnen earned a title fight by making himself by miles and miles the most marketable challenger. Don't like it, I can't argue with you, but that's the fact.

Will is on the money.. But if anyone deserves a title shot, it's Bisping.

Been near the top for years, marketable, Chael took the test, and failed.. Bisping should have gotten it after being Rivera, but I'm sure he will beat Miller.

Henderson isn't even a UFC fighter.. Why the hell does he deserve the title shot the most? He's not even an official UFC fighter. Before you go HAM here me out. Strikeforce still exist, hasn't fought at MW in a while.. A lot of strings would of have to been pulled to get him the title shot after Vitor.. I know, I know.. He knocked Bisping the **** out, but like Sonnen.. He had his shot, and tapped.. A rematch after the Vitor face kick would have been a slap in the face to the UFC MW roster.

And I don't think we will see Hendo at 185 again any time soon !

I could be wrong, but I think he said it's too hard now to make the weight !!!

When he gets tooled by Jon Jones I think we'll see him back down there. He's too small for a light heavyweight by UFC standards even if the medication he was on for his back makes it much more difficult to cut weight.

i think chael sonnen may beat anderson the second time if that happens, i think his performance against brian stann was very good however brian stann doesnt have good tdd so i believe anderson will improve his takedown defense for the second fight. In terms of chael vs hendo i think chael has a slight edge in terms of wrestling against hendo because hendo's wrestling nowadays is rusty to say the least however hendo has a granite chin and hands of steel so chael might be taking a nap.

Henderson is a Zuffa fighter so he may as well be fighting for the UFC and he's been scheduled to fight Shogun Rua so it's all just a matter of formality at this point. He fought at middleweight three fights back and only fought two fights at light heavy in Strikeforce. He says he can drop back to middleweight to fight Anderson and he's an old hand at doing so Hendo embodies the pound for pound spirit - literally fighting up and down the scale. He knocked Bisping cold. He knocked out the greatest heavyweight of all time in Fedor. Forget rankings forget organizations - this is about pound for pound contention. Henderson's resume speaks for itself. Hendo deserves a title shot against Anderson Silva.

^^Can't argue with this, just MO :!:

I think we both agree that Sonnen def does not deserve the next title shot, but I believe Silva/Sonnen II is of highest demand to the majority of the MMA world, myself included.

Life isn't always fair, but I would happily settle for Silva/Sonnen II next.. If only Dana would respond when Hendo called for a rematch with Silva a few weeks ago.. Go figure.

Sonnen dominated Silva and made him look like a fool for 4/5th of that fight. I kinda think that deserves a rematch.

Sonnen needs to **** off and work his way back up the ladder. The ending to the Silva fight wasn't controversial, in fact the only controversy to show up was after the fact in Sonnen failing his substance tests. He hasn't done much to warrant a remach.

Silva dominated Sonnen and made him look like a fool for 1/120th of that fight. And Sonnen quit.

Isn't Hendo fighting Shogun and then probably Jones if he wins? He's locked up for at least the next 6-8 months then at LHW. It's a non-issue, and even if you don't think Sonnen deserve another shot yet, I'd rather see him fight Silva than watch Bisping get tooled out in a round or two.
