Sounds like if it was 10 round fight, Chagaev would've had a hard time. Why was it an 8 rounder? He's in line for the WBA title shot but fights an 8 round fight? C'mon. Chagaev, is no more than a contender. I really wish he fought like he talked.
Chagaev is pudgy, unmotivated , and doesn't punch that hard. He was pathetic against Wlad. If things get too rough , he doesn't fight harder, he coasts to survive. Now he struggles against a glass jawed clubfighter , Travis Walker. We've already seen the best of Chagaev. It's all downhill from here. He'll soon be insignificant even in this horrible era of heavyweights.
I think he's getting too much stick here. I see him as good in all departments but with average power and perhaps stamina issues. He puts combinations together well, moves well and has a decent defence. Walker fought a good fight last night, Chag had his hands full with a very game opponent. If Chagaev is going to beat Haye he should really work on his fitness, and train to throw more punches. If he goes into that fight after a great training camp, and in top shape and motivated, I think he'll beat Haye in an exciting fight
If he sees that Chagaev is eating twinkies, no. But if Haye gets word that Chagaev is training hard and sharpening his skills, Haye's back will suddenly go out.
