Chagaev is mandatory and OWNS the title fight

Ruslan Chageav is cutting into a cheap pizza on a plate he has covered in ketchup. The ideas come out between bites. You have to listen carefully. The rough European accent will spell out all kinds of ideas, things that would blow your mind if they existed outside his reality.
Telekinesis, for instance. He hasn’t quite figured it out, but he’d rather be invisible, anyway. Just think of all the stuff he could learn. One time he teleported himself out of a bar, and did you know the human body can re-grow limbs?
His face is worn and his skin sags in places, but he insists he’s in the best shape of his life. He’s going to be heavyweight champion again if boxing lets him back in, and this brings up Hepatitis . It always comes back to Hepatitis with Ruslan, even over breakfast, so he chops up his pizza and eggs and tells you he is the victim of a wild conspiracy.

He takes another bite and looks at Victoria.
“We have unprotected sex,” she says.
Ruslan is still chewing, but laughs.
“Every day,” he says. “We’re wild.”

Chageav figures you won’t believe him, but he’ll tell you anyway about the time he teleported himself out of trouble.
It was in a dark and shady bar in Berlin. Daytime. A group of people sat around a table in the back corner, and Ruslan instantly felt like he’d walked in on something. He says there was “an overwhelming feeling of evil” in that room, and he knew he had to get out. So he lowered his head and shut his eyes and when he woke up he was standing outside in bright daylight.
“I know it sounds (messed) up,” he says. “But I’ll tell you what, it happened to me. It’s real. But things like this don’t work for anybody that doesn’t believe it.”

Ruslan Chageav is on time for his second meeting with the photographer. He apologizes for the earlier mix-up, says he got caught up running some errands. He’s exceedingly nice, even charming, but, damn, he forgot his boxing boots at home.
He gets in the car and almost immediately comes back and sticks his head out the window. He can’t remember why he left.
“Your boots, Ruslan,” the photographer says.
“Right,” he says, and scribbles “BOOTS” on his hand in black ink.
He says he’ll be back in 20 minutes. It takes an hour.

How many years ago was that? Who has he beat lately that justifies his ranking, or getting a title shot......nobody!

 

There's nothing funny about this, its quite sad. Chageav is not in great mental or physical health and Britian has every right not to sanction him. I fear he may not have much time left...

I wouldn't know. I'm from Latin America, Europe, and Japan.

 

either one i dont mind,both have looked poor of late,and if chag doesnt have hep b,then whats his excuse for looking poor agiasnt poor opposition?.

either one will be a good name on hayes record,either is the best fighter at heavyweight haye has fought yet,either one will not be able to beat haye.
tbh,Haye should fight in America for once,would any us commision sanction chageav?????.

ide rather they do the b.s title thing to actually help the fans.

promote haye to "super" champ,and allow him to fight vitali in july(hopefully haye wises up to klits making it vitali first or nothing)

allow povetkin and chageav to fight for the "regular" title.

then Haye v Wlad can fight in the summer,while vitali fights adamek.

to me thats the best scenarios. But probably too good to happen.

 

If Haye ignores a BBBoC ruling and fights Chagaev, he WILL find himself fined and banned, regardless of the location of the fight.

The board might have reservations about Chagaev's health to box at all, not just whether the infection can be passed on to Haye, the referee and others.

Plus, anyone with half a brain cell knows the WBA aren't going to do **** with a potential Klitschko fight on the horizon, they'll want a piece of the action as they are a business after all.

 

Honestly, nobody wants to see this fight. Who gives a **** about Chagaev. He deserved a draw against Valuev at BEST, got a MD against RUIZ, and almost got his ass beat against Walker.

I would rather see Haye fight Povetkin or Chambers. Chagaev is a non entity.

 

If Chagaev wants the fight outside the UK then all he has to do is win a purse bid
