I'm not sure how they worked that out then. Valuev was still WBA champ at the end of the day. Yeah he had a dodgy win over Holyfield but he had dodgy wins over Larry Donald and John Ruiz and that didn't seem to change things so there seems a bit inconsistency there.

At the time people were still ranking Chagaev ahead of Valuev. Also Povetkin and a handful of Klitschko opponents were ranked above him too. After losing to Holyfield, who had previously lost to an underrated Ibragimov, his ranking generally dropped significantly. Its fair to say he was top 5 before losing to Chag, and maybe when he beat Liakhovich impressively, but he was really exposed by Holyfield

No he was 'exposed' by Larry Donald years ago and Chagaev too. He was top 10 regardless.

Ruiz was borderline top 10 just because the division does not have depth. He shouldn't be, but truthfully he wouldn't have been that far off.

So he pretty much has lived up to what he said he'd do in terms of fighting top 10 fighters. I don't think he even specified whether he'd fight top 10 ring ranked fighters or simply top 10 by an organization. You've obviously just got a bee in your bonnet over this.

Valuev was top 10, but he wasn't top 5 like you said

Come on, top 10 alphabet rankings mean very little. He shouldn't have to specify that he meant Ring fighters, it should go without saying.

Maybe I do have a bee in my bonnet, but the longer he puts off fighting a Klitschko the more faith you have to have in his intentions. I consider him claiming he'd beat two top 10 heavies another broken promise, and I'm not buying his excuses any more

Yeah he must be a twat for not fighting two top 10 fighters as specified by people on internet forums.

In 2 fights he won a version of the world title, if he did that without fighting any top 10 fighters he must be a miracle worker. If winning a title in 3 fights isn't good enough for you, you probably have a few personal issues with David Haye.
