Lets not forget that Chagaev has tired down the stretch before. Even so, he's still effective when tired.
how did skelton get a title shot? ruslan should be ashamed of himself round1: 10-9 skelton - good countering from skelton round2: 10-9 ruslan - lands a few good lefts round3: 10-9 skelton - taking fight to ruslan and more active round4: 10-9 ruslan - skelton more active ruslan landing cleaner round5: 10-9 ruslan - ruslan landing cleaners now round6: 10-9 ruslan - ruslan throwing effective combos now round7: 10-9 ruslan - skelton spoiling chagaev's offense but doing nota round8: 9-9 - pt taken from skelton but landed some nice uppercuts round9: 10-9 ruslan - not impressive from either guy, ruslan landing only meaningful shots round10: 10-9 ruslan - lands some good early lefts. skelton is done. not pressuring or throwing. 97-92 the white tyson atsch
Well then Wlad just needs to start cleaning up. Stay active, take 3 fights a year and KTFO of every opponent :thumbsup
Think Skelton deserved the nod there. Smothered most of Chagaev's stuff and got through with some body shots. Chagaev 107-101 Skelton
round 11/ skelton slow jab left jab skelton first 30 secs nothing of substance by either left hand chagaev skleton holds on take a breather skelton left uppercut left right blocked by chagaev skelton puhshes chagaev to ropes but does little nice right left chagaev lands well fight very slow now both tired skelton leads and holds obviously watched hopkins chagaev looking menacing but done nothing in the round at all/ 10 /10 nothing happened 108-103 chagaev
I think people should keep in mind that Chagaev is coming off of a Hep B infection so he probably isn't 100% as compared to when he was healthier vs. Valuev and Ruiz where he looked much sharper. This was a comeback fight, and as far as comeback fight not the easiest one he could have taken.
