    round 12/

skelton walking forward just letting his arms go
nothing on them just trying to do something

chagaev also letting his hands go

both land big right and left at same time

    chagaev landing big shots

    skelton hasd to hold

    skelton absolutly knacked

chagaev backs off instead of going for ko
    nice big uppercut skelton

big right catches cvhagaev walking in.

    20 secs

    skelton backs up to corner
    and lets his hands go

    chagaev wins last round clearly

    118-112 on my card
    chagaev
ok fight chagaev bettwer polished work wins the fight IMO

great fight for me... as I predicted all along... it's gonna end with a UD for Chagaev who's way overrated on this forum.

    yet another winning bet! :)

great post, though I like Peter and think he's better than some suggest, he's certainly not a great fighter, and would probably be another Mercer or worse if he was fighting in the 90s, but you at least got to give him credit for being the last fighter to give Wlad trouble in the ring and make him work for the win.

Nope. Even a guy like Byrd would clearly outbox those guys. Golota would give them fits and probably KO them. And those are just two randoms. Povetkin would easy UD anyone from that era.

If it weren't for Wlad I wouldn't be interested in the Heavyweight division. Povetkin is also good.

I remember Skelton had a very good/entertainning fight against Danny Williams. Threw a lot of punches, etc. What the **** happened now?

And, after this horrible performance by Chagaev, I think that Ibragimov is better than him (he is still nothing special) and Wlad has made a good choice to fight him in his next bout, because Ibragimov seems like the second best of this weak bunch of beltholders.

:-( these are the type of fights that hurt the hw division

round1: 10-9 skelton - good countering from skelton
    round2: 10-9 ruslan - lands a few good lefts
round3: 10-9 skelton - taking fight to ruslan and more active
round4: 10-9 ruslan - skelton more active ruslan landing cleaner
round5: 10-9 ruslan - ruslan landing cleaners now
round6: 10-9 ruslan - ruslan throwing effective combos now
round7: 10-9 ruslan - skelton spoiling chagaev's offense but doing nota
round8: 9-9 - pt taken from skelton but landed some nice uppercuts
round9: 10-9 ruslan - not impressive from either guy, ruslan landing only meaningful shots
round10: 10-9 ruslan - lands some good early lefts. skelton is done. not pressuring or throwing.
round11: 10-9 skelton - horrible performance from both, pity round for sketlon
    round12: 10-9 chagaev - no comment

    116-111 the white tyson :patsch

thank god this fight is over. wlad tko 7. chagaev has no jab or right hand

chagaev goes up on the ropes happy.

sauerland know the round by round scores all the way through fights on ref scorecards so i presume chagaev knows for sure.

I'm inclined to agree with that, and I followed boxing pretty closely in those years. Guys like Witherspoon, Weaver, Coetzee would clean up today against some of these mediocrities.

sean, what went wrong, why no KO for Chagaev?
