Agree, he is so limited it's not funny....... If i was Hatton I would try and cash him out with a title fight

Hatton had a title fight lined up for Browne with Chagaev. He was even Chagaev's mandatory. But it hasn't got him the fight - yet.

Title fight? For WBA paper belt? You can't call this a champion belt, it has the same value as the WBU belt of Mark De Mori.

We all get the point.... But Chaggy is no LESS a champ than Wilder.

MOF.....BOTH Browne and Pianeta are FAR more respectable defenses than is Molina.
Ilo go a step further even and iclude Pianeta or Browne would be the BEST WBA minor defenses outside of Huck.

Chaggy is LESS a champ than Wilder. Wilder holds a A+ belt, Chagaev owns a B-belt, Klitschko is the real WBA champ. It is the same as the silver WBC belt Povetkin has.

Chagaev at His prime was a sold fighter close to Povetkin level, He is still one of the best wins in Wlad career, inactivity, illness and lack of motivation (look fat now) are the points that make Chagaev look like a journeyman now.

Leonard Nimoy had better jokes about blazing cows doing sit-down protests in orphanages than the WBA Regular belt. It's simply awful and only exists to milk fight sanction fees from the over-eager and over-stretched second tier. Chagaev, Browne and Pianeta just about deserve each other. Chagaev is seasoned but well past his sell by date; Browne is a crude slugger and Pianeta is ... well, what the hell is Pianeta? He would have no name recognition whatsoever if it weren't for the unfathomable Klitschko encounter (not going to call it a fight).

Chagaev probably has enough left in the tank to beat both of these guys in the same evening, in spite of being faded to the point of rot.

Wladimir Klitschko holds the WBA title. Any fight that doesn't involve Wladimir is not a WBA title fight. WBA should stop producing belts.

Actually it is not the same at all. The WBC created the Silver belt as a replacement to the "interim" title in theory. The WBA created the "Super" designator to recognize unified champions, to allow them more time between mandatories.

Technically, Wilder and Chagaev are equivalent belt holders.....it's just that Wlad has beaten Chagaev and is so dominant in the division that Chagaev (and his WBA belt) are devalued.

Why is Pianeta a better defence than Molina?

They're pretty much the same level

No one beats Molina as the most pathetic WBC title fight opponent. It is a disgrace.

At least Pianeta has fought The Legend and made it to the round 6.

The situation regarding Ruslan Chagaev fighting his mandatory Lucas Browne just got even more bizarre.

As those of us who have followed the saga know, a few months ago the WBC demanded Chagaev and Browne get a fight deal done within 30 days, or a purse bid would result and they'd be matched that way.

From there Chagaev managed to slip in a fight with Francesco Pianeta prior to fighting his mandatory defence against Browne.

Now the WBC has agreed to a Chagaev vs Fres Oquendo rematch immediately following Chagaev vs Pianeta.

Lucas Browne has now been forced to wait two Chagaev fights before he gets a look in for his mandatory challenge.
