Fake title, but I hope Browne wins

Presumably it will set up a big Down Under fight with Joseph Parker

It's called the regular, but still totally fake like it is in all divisions.

Oh, certainly more fake as that.
It's still insane, but this was a vacant title while there was a super champion in place, and fought between 2 guys who were over the hill and between 30th and 50th in the world at the time.
The IBF situation is bull, but this was worse.

A regular title for two regular fighters. Apt.

The IBF situation is laughable but the WBA are beyond a joke at this point- I wouldn't mind so much if the regular champion faced the super champion once in a while.

Also we have Ortiz defending his Interim WBA title tonight against Jennings

Is this the Ordinary Interim or Super Interim 😟

Presumably, Ramzan Kadyrov will insert himself into Chagaev's corner again, in a bid to "encourage" Chagaev towards victory (ala the Oquendo fight).

Chagaev knocks Browne out, even at aged 37.

    Browne is horrible.

And then Deontay "Cherry Picker" Wilder, after calling out Fury, Klitschko, Povetkin and Joshua, would subsequently announce Lucas Browne as his oppenent for a July fight.

I actually wouldn't mind that as it would free up a belt. Although the WBA would still have the interim Champion.

I suspect Wilder will have to fight Povetkin next or vacate. If that is the situation, he vacates and the WBC may mandate Povetkin/Joshua.

Looks like Wilder will be vacating, then; he doesn't appear to want anything to do with Povetkin. Molina had Wilder shaken and hurt, and Duhaupas marked Wilder up. With that in mind, what do you suspect Povetkin would do to Wilder?

In addition, I very much doubt Eddie Hearn is itching to match Joshua with Povetkin. From what I understand, Hearn wants to take Joshua the "traditional" route -- meaning, a European title fight with Erkan Teper (or, whoever happens to be European champion) at some point in the next 9 to 12 months.

I agree that Hearn would be crazy to allow Povetkin to fight Joshua given what we saw last Saturday. If Fury gets by Wlad in the rematch then him vs Povetkin for the WBC strap would be about the best match up in the division.

Long way to go before that happens however.

Yes: probably October or November 2016 for any mooted Fury vs Povetkin fight, assuming Fury gets past Waldo in their rematch.
