if this was to take place next year, providing vitali beats briggs that is, who would you favour?

both seem to me to be declining, age is catching up with them, but both are a big enough name that a win would be significant.

who would win this fight if it was say march next year?

im surprised this thread is so one sided.

i know wlad whuppped chagaev good and proper, but surely i aint the only one who rates him?

or maybe its not so much rating him as not rating vitali. i cant see him being a force next year.

    Great Avatar Sportsleader.
And good prediction. Vitali still has enough to outpoint Chagaev.

I'd like to see if Haye can beat Chagaev. I'd be surprised if he can.

see next year i would actually favour haye to beat chagaev, i just see vitali becoming vulnerable to quick small boxers.

I don't think Chagaev has much left. Not that there was all that there to begin with.
    Vitali would defeat him.

i think he was quite an underrated fighter tbh.

and i do believe vitali is closer to being shot than chagaev is. time will tell.

Chagaev is still young, this would be a tough matchup for Vitali. Vitali is declining and getting slower, Chagaev is an awkward southpaw who could spell trouble for Vitali as long as he avoids trading toe-to-toe.

    footwork vitali >>>>>> valuev
    counter vitali >>>>>> valuev
    workrate vitali >>>>>> valuev
    etc

    = Vitali (T)KO Chagaev!

It would be an easy fight for Vitali.

Chagaev is too tenative and scared to press Vitali, and needs room to operate.

Vitali would keep him on the end of the jab, mix in some uppercuts, and walk him into straight left hands.

He would give Chagaev the beating of his life time.
