Ruslan showed pretty good stamina. He will get rocked by Wlad though. Skelton is an oaf.

    HORRIBLE FIGHT

    117-110 for Chagaev.

Skelton did everything to break Chagaev's style and Ruslan couldn't do much to work out from the clinches or counter-punch him constantly which was a surprise for me. (well, 9 months of lay-off is not a good thing at HW).

Very boring fight. Chagaev's biggest problem is his poor footwork, punch output and bad conditioning. It's gonna be a major problem.

I agree it was pretty bad, he left himself wide open for uppercuts on the inside too the whole fight

there was more wrestling than in that ufc **** over on the other setanta channel at the same time lol, good fight though, toe to toe brawl, no technical quality however.

I wouldn't say it was relatively easy

Chagaev made a meal of it, by failing to keep Skelton at range and getting bullied around on the inside. Not very impressive

I had Chagaev by 3 in the end

I had it 117-110 for Chagaev...I don't think he'll gain an awful lot off this result though. Bit like Ibragimov's efforts against Briggs and Holyfield.

I like Chagaev, but he's far from a "White Tyson", Sam Peter definitely has power than him IMO.

    chagaev is nothing special.

i can see how he outboxed ruiz and valuev.

he's a good little accurate counter puncher.

and very tough by the looks of it.

i always looked at the decision he scored over ruiz and knew skelton had no chance. skelton is a poor man's ruiz i think.

    wladimir klitschko would beat him.

i see povetkin taking over later this year though. :yep

You could make an argument for Skeleton winning but I can't be bothered. Skeleton lay on Chagaev for the majority of the fight and outworked him. Chagaev very occasionally landed some quality shots. Chagaevs a fat bloater with skill but should be 40lbs lighter.

Well he was never ever in any kind of danger, and in was in control starting in round 3 on out pretty much. I would say it wasn't very challenging for him

    I can't agree with that

That is not Chagaev's type of fight. He likes to stand off and counterpunch, and for the vast majority of the fight Skelton was bear hugging him. Yes, he won fairly clearly on points, but it was not a comfortable nights work or a great performance like it should have been

He couldn't hang at Cruiser though IMO, not enough speed.
