Looks like chagaev is healthy again and ready to challenge haye for
his WBA title as the mandatory. IMO Haye hasn't fought anyone as
dangerous as chagaev, but this would also give the brit an opportunity
to one up Wlad by trying(and i do say trying) to beat ruslan worse than
Wlad did. I would favor haye, but over the course of a boring 12 rounds,
and a marginal win at that.
However, chagaev does possess the dig to put doivit to:dead

Well, it's that or get stipped. He could ask the WBA for an optional
    fight, but against who?
Oh,OH,.......how about against wladimir klitschko? No?
OK, then defend against chagaev then. No?
    Adamek? No?
Valuev II? Ding ding ding ding. we have a winner!

Chagaev is completely legit as a mandatory challenger but I am a bit disappointed by his performance against Meehan.

The key word here is "would", because I don't think Haye will ever fight Chagaev. Too much risk for very little reward. Haye will probably rather drop that worthless paper belt.

Then he'll have no leverage at all against the klits, who he has no intentions of going near anyway.

    You're not thinking, you're feeling.

Chagaev is a shell from what he was a few years ago. Still Top10 though.

I guess Haye would love to fight Chagaev. He is smaller, slower, not a hard puncher. What more can he wish for? And i don't say Chagaev is a bum that stands no chances against Haye, but still Haye is a big favorite here. Anyway, it would be the greates challenge for Haye so far.

Haye don't have the size to keep Chagaev at bay and pummel him the way Wlad did...........

And given that Chagaev has a good chin, and keeps coming forward, always pressing for the big shot........I think he'd be a handful for Haye.

Tough fight for Haye, most certainly. Chagaev is fast, tough, skilled, and always comes forward........so he would be Haye's toughest heavyweight fight yet, BY FAR.

Chagaev is still probably the fourth best heavy out there. I think most have to agree with that.

I don't see why Haye would go as a heavy favourite against Chagaev. Ruiz hit Haye pretty often, and Chagaev is both a harder hitter, has better defence and on top of this is a southpaw. If the odds were good enough I'd be tempted to put money on Chagaev in this one

Remember when Haye said to Sky Sports "Don't expect me to hang around for a couple of years and make a lot of mandatory defenses, that's not my goal". Haye was thinking of guys like Chagaev when he said that.

Tough guy, good chin, completely unknown, little interest fighter but dangerous and not a walk in the park to beat.

Haye will NEVER fight Chagaev. Doesn't fit his profile. Chagaev is not 38+ years old, not over-the-hill and much too dangerous for too little reward.
