It's about time Chagaev fights somebody, he's keeping the belt hostage for some time now. I hope we see him at the ring in january, even if it's just for a boring bout against Moorer/Bidenko.

An unification bout between Chag and the winner of Klitschko/Ibragimov, should take place only after Thompson gets his shot, cause he's waiting for a while already. I think the winner of Povetkin/Chambers will get a shot in six months time, after their fight, according to the rules.

Wladimir would likely beat Thompson as easily as he beat Austin.

Wladimir shouldn't be looking past Sultan though, Iggy has made a living off of defying the odds vs. much bigger guys.

    That would be great!

I'm not a pessimist but i will try to hold my joy untill this fight it officially scheduled. Boxing politics are a pain in the ass.

I dont know enough about Virchis to put him in my list of guys that have a decent chance of beating Wlad, My list goes as follows 1. Valuev 40%, 2. Peter 35%, 3. Chagaev 35%, 4. Povetkin 30%, 5. Tua 25%, 6. Maskaev 20%, 7. Corrie Sanders 20%, 8. Virchis 15%, 9. Iggy 10%, 10. Thompson 10%.

 I've never seen so many fighters broken down to percentages like that. Nice work. :good

I'd say that's pretty close to what I'd say, too, but I'd take about 10% off of Valuev, and I would give The Ig-bomb a bit better than a mere 10% chance. He's got at least 12% chance.

And that bum, Thompson, would have about 2% chance, at best.

I try to study fighters styles and how they would stack up against certain fighters, I however only seen a little bit of fighters like Thompson and Virchis so I could honestly be a little off on my percentages of them.

Valuev is my new number 1, he took Peters spot after the Mccline fight IMO. I think he has the size to give Wlad trouble in the ring, and the chin to stay in the fight the whole night. Theres a chance that Valuevs good stamina will give him the ability to land effective shots late in the fight, when Wlad might me be gassed and tired. I think Wlad would win by UD, but theres always that chance a big guy like Valuev can give him some problems.:good

Valuev has never been hit as hard as Wlad would hit him, and he'd do it repeatedly. That would be a good and very exiting fight to see, yes. I bet they'll almost have to get around to facing each other at some point, if Valuev stays high in the ranking, and beats Liakhovitch, which I think he will.

I have not seen but a little of Virchis, either, but what little I did see was pretty impressive. Virchis is well known for his power, and I also thiink he is not as slow as he's made out to be by some. His boxing is pretty decent, too, I would say.

New article on this fight, and possible other unification fights.
