I just read at the Univerum Boxing Homepage that this laughable "so called"
titlefight is PPV in the States.

I think nobody is stupid enough to pay for this ****.

In germany this fight is promoted as a real titlefight :admin

I never heard of Drumond before but Univerum announced him as an undefeated challenger.

Chagaev is losing his last reputation with this fight

Who cares, seeing the Vitali will be battling Gomez on ESPN!!! There needs to be more fights on basic cable like that.

That's strange, there needs to be less PPV. Including Feb.21st, Pavlik and Cotto are coming off of losses and in no way warrant a PPV. This is the perfect oppurtunity to get more people into boxing, Pavlik and Cotto are going to destroy these guys which would attract alot of fans.

when no network wants to pick up a fight, there is no choice. Its either PPV or nothing at all

Come on, he needs a comeback fight. People don't realize how serious his injury was. As a title fight, of course it is a joke, but I don't even comment HW title fights, the quality of the rankings is utter ****. Hopefully Chagaev will put of a good performance and put Valuev away once and for all, but I wouldn't bet 2 cents on that.

PPV? lol, that's a good one.

    nothing against drumond..

but i would describe the whole situation with the wba as '****'...they are making a mockery out of the sport...they are corrupt and dont even hide it..

if thats a title fight then this sport of pro boxing is dying....they have no respect for the sport or fans of it..

Bull****. There is a Choice and that choice is the INTERNET. A live, free WEBCAST is a definite choice. Boxing needs to see that the year is now 2009, not 1999. It is 10 years later, and times are a' changin'. If the fight were promoted as a FREE Webcast, on Fight News, and Eastside, and Max and the dogpound, a hell of a lot of fans would be happy to watch it. But in this Economy ESPECIALLY, PPV Boxing needs to be reserved for MegaFights ONLY.

Agreed I assume there won't be alot of buys for this. Chagaev isn't a big name in north America and being on free TV and having a good preformance would help him with popularity. But unfortunatly most promoters think for today and not for the future.

In the US, I don't see this fight selling very many PPVs, no.

It ought to be on regular HBO or Showtime, and then make sure Valuev is ringside to help hype his rematch with Chagaev.

But then again, how can you make a fight everyone already knows will be another snoozefest, sound appealing and exicting? LOL

I just hope the Chag Valuev winner will win decisively, so that titleholder can then be shamed into further unification.

So what's the situation with the WBA?

Is this for the full belt or interim title?

Does Valuev still have the full belt?

Does he have to fight Chagaev once he wins?

Definitely down with an internet viewing; as a student i don't even pay for cable let alone ppv and this fight should not have even been thinking ppv

Heres what you do, to ENSURE PPV sales, and make it a great show for us boxing fans. Make the Fight Happen on BDSSP, with James "Lights Out" Toney offering color commentary, and climbing into the ring to openly challenge the winner.
