We should shake up the Classic section every once in a while, so...

    Create a ridiculous thread.

I don't mean "10 Tommy Hearns clones vs. Mike Tyson" ridiculous. More like: "Henry Cooper would destroy Lennox Lewis" level of ridiculous.

And then make a completely serious defense of your argument against all comers. Distort the records as little as possible, and make an honest attempt to prove your case.

Consider this a true test of your boxing knowledge. And who knows? Maybe we'll get some new insights out of it. I'm certainly hoping so.

Oh come on, don't tell me you think that guy's serious. The giveaway was when he essentially admitted to being a Boxrec warrior who never watched any tapes on that other thread.

167lbs of POWER!!!!! The heaviest 167 lbs in history! The most brutal and ruthless and most vicious ginger champion there has ever been. No one could stop him. His style impetuous, his defence is impregnable, and he's just ferocious; he wants your heart, he wants to eat your children, and after he's done that, he'll STILL weigh 167lbs!!!!!

Should we report to this thread with links?

This would spoil the guesswork aspect, but reduce the chances of setting off mental alarms for those who missed this thread and having them think their peers have simply lost their marbles.

After all, if we're being too obvious about our "believable absurdity", then we've fundamentally failed, haven't we?

Begin in stealth mode. If you reach a point where you absolutely cannot bear the thought of your colleagues believing you've gone nuts, feel free to link to this thread.

Perhaps we could vote afterward for the most successfully-argued absurd thread. :hey
