Now that I see he's in great shape. Chambers UD. He likely won't get lazy like in his past fights and will finish the job.
thats what i thought. looks like he could lose another 4/5 then drop a few for a weigh in and make 200, then re-hydrate to 210/15. he wont be able to compete in this era of super-heavies and theres big fights out there for him adamek, cunningham, a catchweight with david haye, jonathan banks
209 lbs in a Heavyweight Tittle Elimination Fight.............nobody else see's a problem with this:think
That's ****ing hardcore man. Great to see that he's in good shape FINALLY! Now if only the Arreolas, Peters and Solis's did the same..
I think people, including myself, are just glad to see that he took the time to lose weight and get in better shape for a big fight. Better to see that he trained hard and got in shape rather than worrying about him being too light for heavier fighters down the line. It shows you how far expectations have fallen for the heavyweight divsion that a guy bothering to get in shape is a newsmaking event.
How the **** are people gonna automaticaly say that he needs to go to cruiser weight? Let's watch him perform first.
Nice result, somebody says Arreola should do the same, so immediately I ask... Can you imagine ripped Cristobal ? Hard fo me hah, anyway I like him.
i agree he is small but when Holyfield was first champ he only weighed 205 and was considered small but today there aren't to many decent fighters at HW.
He looks to be in great shape, people saying he could lose more are not looking at his waist, which is on the bone practically, He COULD fight at Cruiser, he's about the same size as David Haye, but he'd have to deyhdrate to make weight, and he'd make less money If 208.25 lbs means Chambers can really move, which he usually doesn't, then I give him a decent chance, and this is the perfect fight for him to figure out whether he has a future as a champ or not because all of the belts are held by 6'6+ giants right now. BTW, is this fight being shown on any major networks in the US??
Great to see Eddie come in so light and fit. Eddie is a great guy, a real pleasure to talk to and hang out with, and one of the genuinely good people in boxing. I wish him luck going into this fight as he definitely deserves our support. If Eddie were to drop to cruiser, which is possible, I think he would absolutely dominate that division, and I would definitely pick him over Haye as he has the speed, skill and chin to contend with David, and his underrated power would be apparent against someone with a questionable chin. I will say that I don't blame Eddie's fitness or resolve for his fight with Povetkin. Povetkin was beating up his body from the first round on, when a 230 pound man with that kind of skill is beating up your body for four rounds it will have an adverse affect on your stamina.
It can backfire. Looking back at Byrd losing weight rather than doing the usual camp or Roy losing muscle weight coming back from HW both had negative effects. And you definitely don't want to give away too much weight to a giant like Dimitrenko. It's a big risk, let's see if it pays off.
