Good points, but I think this is a lot different from the Byrd and Jones situations. Byrd dropped all the way down to 175 and did it at an advanced age. Jones might have lost muscle, but Chambers seems to have mostly lost that fat roll he was carrying around his waist. Like you say, we'll have to see if it pays off.
209lbs and being close to top shape proves that Chambers is a natural CW. He will have to overcome quite a size disavantage to win this fight, almost 7" and 50lbs, but it seems he is in the best shape of his life. He should really consider dropping to CW if he can't beat Dimitrenko, the division is growing a lot and I think he could have a lot of interesting lucrative fights with Adamek, Cunningham, Huck and possibly even rule the division.
holyfield was actually 208 pounds when he beat douglas..but he was 208 pounds of twisted steel. mych different than the 208 chambers is. holyfield was probably twice as stong as eddie and just as fast
It could backfire certainly. He could've dropped too much weight too soon and suffer the effects of it. That said nobody can fault Eddie for giving it a shot.
Glad to see Eddie took things seriously. This is for all the marbles. He's fighting for his country tomorrow.
