The odds sure don't say so. He's at +425 right now. I'm thinking about putting down some change on Chambers. I liked what i saw in his last fight against Brock. He completely dominated him. Don't know much about Povetkin but he must be pretty good to be favored by so much. So what are your thoughts on this fight?
I think the fight might be closer than expected. I would definately favor Povetkin to win but Chambers will give him some trouble. Chambers will fight similar to Bryd and rack up some points. It would surprise me if Chambers won, though, because I think Povetkin will turn up the heat. I would probably think twice before putting money on Chambers but you never know especially with Povetkin only being 14-0.
Add in Povetkins amatuer backround and he's way more experienced than Chambers....people forget about that (and the gold medal he won at the olympics). Unfortunately imo Chambers doesn't even have a punchers chance in this fight, since he lacks power. He fights defensively and lets guys get in close to him, which is where Povetkin will do his damage. I think I will be putting some money on the under rounds of this fight for that reason, the great odds on the under, and also the fact that Povetkin will be looking to make a splash in this fight. I certainly wouldn't put any money on Chambers.....but thats just me
Forgot to add that Povetkin is WAY busier than Chambers....so really like I said he doesn't have the power to drop him, and is less busy. So how does he win?
Yeah, Chambers style is similiar to Winky. He has those guards up and he stands right in front of you and flicks that jab. Problem is that this is the HW division and if he just stands in front of a guy with power, he would get hurt. But i really like his hand speed. It's unreal. And he was out of shape in the Brock fight. Word is that he has really toned up. That will make him that much better. And yeah, he has a problem with not staying busy enough. Maybe that will be helped with him coming in better shape. Besides, i'm only betting about $5 for this one. :mj
I know what you mean. I have dropped $5-10 on guys I thought were going to lose before if the odds were good.
Yeah, i would never bet on a fight in which i didn't know both fighters inside out. I was just surprised by the odds. If i put down about $5, i win $20. No big harm.
Chambers does have a chance. Because he has better lateral movement, and if he can take that punch of Povetkin and stay off the ropes and out of the corners, he could definitely pull an upset on a points win.
Trust me, you should put atleast 50 down if anything on Chambers if you want. He has a hell of a chance, in fact to me I favor him to win. When Povetkin fought Byrd he did NOT impress me too much. Meanwhile Chambers did impress when he fought Brock..he does have some pretty fast punches.. you'll see..in fact i wouldnt be suprised if Chambers beats Povetkin by a slightly wide margin..
Chamber's style will be a little hard to decipher by Povetkin in the early going but at the mid rounds or so Povetkin will prove too much
