Would he, could he, box Shawn Cox? Weighing in at cruiser, wearing socks? Of course you do, Farmy. Y'know... op No, Farmy. That isn't quite how it works. Wlad hits hard but he doesn't literally disintegrate dudes. I thought it was a quick stoppage, myself. :conf
Peltz made NUMEROUS attempts to get Jennings penciled in as TBA vs Szpilka for the night NBC set him up against Liakovich. The Szpilka camp had a 4-7 guy lined up, but when he fell through, Peltz was ready to send Jennings in there to KTFO chinachin Szpilka. But instead china boys team got him another bum, albeit a more respectable 5-1 bum.
This is what Heavyweight boxing desperately needs. Top contenders need to fight each other and build up skill level instead of beating a bunch of bums then getting a shot at a Klitschko brother and then fading away.
Damn Right Man! But even more this should happen with guys who are undefeated and rising gunsgood I dont understand how it went to this way what it is now.. Promoters? I would love to see contenders fighting each other and best of the bunch getting title shot by EARNING it. you are right what you said and plus it would make more credible contenders. It would create much more buzzle towards heavyweights and the upcoming title fight as well. There could be several fights between these top 20 guys which I would die to see and none of these fights would include either Klitschko.
I think the biggest problem is that everybody is afraid of taking an "unnecessary loss" because networks, promoters might leave them for dead. So what it appears they are doing is that they pad their record up as much as possible. Take 1 dangerous fight against a live body and 1 fight against a name gatekeeper and then they think they are ready for Wlad or Vitaly. And the reality is that they haven't earned their shot the hard way. The way it used to be. If Chisora or Haye or Povetkin were to start fighting one by one top 15 fighters and try to clean out the division without holding a belt proving that if the Klitschko's weren't there that they would be champions, then they would become a serious rival. Their standing would increase dramatically and then ladies and gentlemen we have a serious Heavyweight Showdown! If Povetkin were to beat Haye, Chisora, Dimitrenko and Helenius top 10 fighters without holding a belt how would a Wlad Klitschko vs Alexander Povetkin fight look like? (Rhetorical question because we both know that it would be Super Fight Good and and not one that is based on Marketing and Gimmicks). It's a shame that the business side has added so much politics in the game.
