Mayorga, Duran, Morales, Chavez, Monzon, Cervantes, Marquez... damn near any Latin American fighter outside of Miquel Gonzalez and Barrera.

Jeff Chandler got to the IBHOF famously with just two amateur bouts, one a loss to former schoolmate Johnny "Dancing Machine" Carter, avenged on national television in a title rematch.

Dwight Qawi got to Canastota with a background developed in Rahway State Prison, to which he later returned to retire James Scott.

Billy Conn. No amateur fights. Famous quote about moving up from alleys to streets.
