    Schmeling seemed to be an articulate, lucid guy. I bet he needed minimal assistance if any in writing his autobiography...same with Floyd Patterson..until the grim reaper of pugilistic dementia finally caught up with him.

    Schmeling even after a few month before his death ad age 99 went to work everyday. Drove around 80 kms everyday to get there from his house and back home alone, inbetween rarely working less than 9-10 hours. :good


    I was about to mention Floyd since he was up in my mind given the discussions about his fantasy fights with Carnera and Shavers but it somehow slipped my mind.


    Another one to add would be Alexander Dimitrenko. Not a champ and probably never will be but he got his law degree even though he was forcing his boxing career as a main job. You need some brain for that I suppose.
