The version of Carnera that was defending his title from Loughran and Uzcudun, versus Luis Ortiz of today. Who wins?

I feel that I would have to favor Carnera, but Ortiz would be a dangerous opponent for him.

    Ortiz UD.

Loughran "beat" Carnera but I read that there was a deal that if he didn't knock him out then it doesn't count pretty much.

Uzcudun was decent but Ortiz is better at least stylistically.

Now that is the one thing that wont happen.

It is either going to be Ortiz by some sort of stoppage, or Carnera by wide decision.

Yeah I agree. Ortiz would be no stiff, that's for sure. But Carnera should definitely beat him.

Regardless of how many times Carnera gets knocked down he would survive the fight. Ortiz isn't mobile enough to do what Baer did to Carnera.

Are you under the impression that Ortiz is some kind of crude slugger?

I would not class him as such, but the issue might be your unwillingness to acknowledge of Carnera's qualities?

Interesting. Then what's the basis of your claim that Ortiz's only chance to avoid losing a lopsided decision would be to knock Carnera out?

I think that Carnera was the better all round technician, and perhaps one of the best among the superheavyweights.

Ortiz is a boxer-slugger with very good ring IQ.
But his pace, speed, and mobility would be the reason that he loses to Carnera imo.

Better technician? Ortiz would batter Carnera and make him look foolish.

Ortiz easily knocks out carnera in 3-5. Ortiz hits much harder, has faster hands, is much better defensively, has a stylistic advantage....not to mention primo could not take a punch
