lora, does Park-Canto II exist? And was it a 'draw'??

Let me guess, Park has been out on a bender the night before?

It's rare even to this day i think, but it's out there, bull has it does he not?

I remember a Korean i used to trade with back in the 90s said it didn't exist anymore, film archive destroyed or something. But i got a shitty vhs version not long after among most of my other Canto stuff.I might make a concerted effort to find it soon to score it again. It must be near 15 years since i watched either fight in full so i couldn't give you anything like a detailed breakdown.

It's definitely one of the major controversial Flyweight fights along with the Pone rematchs etc though. I don't remember it being much different than the first in approach, just that Park isn't nearly as aggressive or sharp then fades badly over the last third.Canto fights well but is past his best and not getting any better.

Meh, just some less talked about stuff. I'm about to upload a complete borefest between Payao Poontarat and Rafael Orono, just so it's on there for anyone that cares. Glad people are enjoying them (I like being off work) and it's given me a chance to get through a backlog of other footage while they're uploading in the background.

It's spurred on some small discussions, so job done from my end :good

Enjoy Ortega-Scott, a lot of fun that one. Thanks to

one of his recommendations when I enquired about Ortega...he'd called him the most exciting fighter he'd seen or summat like that, and Gaspar does seen to find a way of getting in tear ups.

With Scott, in that exciting scrap with Stable, it's bound to be fun!

    Flea Man,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

You hit a 'Home Run' with that video,,,,,,,,,,,,

    Kind of like a 'mini' Thomas Hearns vs Pipino Cuevas battle;

Guty Espadas had 'one mean left hook',,,,,

Though Chan-Hee Park floored Guty Espadas with a 'Thomas Hearns' type of 'right hand' -
Chan-Hee Park was not a 'big-banger' by any means. He was, more-or-less, a 'busy winger'
who liked to stay active in a bout.

    Fact 1: Chan-Hee Park (WBC Flyweight Champion) was 11-0-2 (5 KO's) when
entering his bout with 'Former WBA Flyweight Champion' Guty Espadas 33-3-5 (24 KO's), on December 16, 1979.

Fact 2: Over 20,000 South Korean fans attended the bout on December 16, 1979 - at the
Busan Gudeok Gymnasium in Busan, South Korea

Fact 3: In his previous '5' bouts, *Chan-Hee Park was 3-0-2 (O KO's), as he
    had no 'stoppage wins'.

Fact 4: That was the 'first time' Guty Espadas had ever been floored, and
    then 'Knocked-out' in his career.

Fact 5: In his next '9' bouts after Knocking-out Guty Espadas, Chan-Hee Park
did not score another Knock-out for the rest of his career ('9' more bouts).

Fact 6; From October 21, 1978 thru his last bout on December 12, 1982 -
Chan-Hee Park went 9-4-2 (1 KO) in '16' bouts, with the 'lone knock-out'
the (KO 2) over Guty Espadas on December 16, 1979.

    Chan-Hee Park

    1976 Olympics in Montreal

Competed in (-48 Kg) 106 lb. Light-Flyweight Division at Age 19.

Made it the the Quarterfinals, before losing a 'hairline' 3:2 Split-Decision to
eventual Gold Medal Winner, Cuba's Jorge Hernandez.

Turned Professional on July 8, 1977 at - at age 20.

Won the WBC Flyweight Title on March 18, 1979, just 5-days shy of his 22nd Birthday,
by defeating the 'Great' Miguel Canto of Mexico.

He had only been a 'Professional' for '20' Months.

Made '5' successful defenses, before getting 'upset' (L KO 9) by the veteran and former
WBC Flyweight Champion, 28 year-old Shoji Oguma of Japan, in May of 1980.
Chan-Hee Park had been heavily favored (6-1) in his bout with Shoji Oguma.

Jun-Ho Gang, former Olympian (semi-finallist) who fought the original Davey Moore trained Park and Muangsurin conquerer Sang-Hyun Kim to professional success.

Anyone know much of him or his training camp??
