What say's you? Bout time i say, the Dirrell fight was his last fight at home wasn't it? Froch/Johnson will be a cracking fight i reckon.
Unless they have both semis on the same card, in which case it probably would. I seem to remember something in the original contract that both semi finals would be in the states, but no idea if thats been knocked on the head or not. I presume Showtime would much prefer it in the US.
It would make sense for the fight to be in the UK but I'm pretty sure that the original plan was for both semis to be in the US. As long as Ward v Abraham doesn't take place in Oakland, I'm not really bothered where Froch v Johnson is held.
I do remember that notion being thrown around, but I really hope it has been disregarded. Froch has only had one fight at home, is the champ, and is defending against a newcomer to the tournament that staked his claim by beating another replacement who never should have been involved in the first place. If Ward can have every single fight in Oakland, Froch deserves at least this much.
ward vs AA will not be in oakland according to goosen. The Froch vs Johnson fight makes more money in Nottingham or even the MEN.
hopefully froch will be fighting in england , it would be alot bigger and he'd get alot more exposure fighting on home soil.
As others have already said, Ward needs to fight outside Oakland and have a referee that will clamp down on his ugly, holding style.
Wonder if Glen Johnson wants to bother travelling.... I hope it is the UK and can see little reason in it not being here.
Same night on sky box office, Froch v Johnson in nottingham with Barker and maybe O'Donnell on the undercard, then off to the states for Ward v AA plus the undercard. With a bit of build up on sky sports news and the fight camp 360 episodes, sky could do huge numbers with that. All ifs and buts but after saturday night i think they are now interested.
If Froch has more points in the tournament dosen't he gets home advantage or is my understanding of the tourney rules incorrect?
