In the videos below Jacobs mentions that the penalty for coming in over the 170 lb limit on Saturday that his team had gotten the penalty down from 250,000 $ dollars to 100,000$ per pound. if his team had pushed for that. That has gotta mean maybe they intend on coming over. And in the second video Hearn says Jacobs can choose not to come in over. And maybe jokingly said he would maybe pay the penalty fee so thoughts on this ?? Do you all think Jacobs will come in at super saiyan mode and come in over the second day or will he folllow through ???? Let me know your thoughts This content is protected This content is protected
Interesting point. My take, Jacobs and Hearn know he isn't winning on the cards in almost any eventuality. The chances of Jacobs getting a stoppage are somewhere between 0 and none regardless if he came in at 190. Therefore, it makes no sense for him to come in higher and throw away hundreds of thousands. He will come in on weight or the very smallest over it. He tried the weight bully thing with GGG, it didn't work and GGG had a lot less "influence" with the officials. tl;dr - this is to allow for genuine weight issues that DJ has as opposed to some sort of allowing for a higher weight tactical advantage.
I don't give a poop what Team Canelo moan and complaint about here. They can get their panties all in a bunch all they like. Remember, Canelo the coward, imposed a re-hydration clause (10lb) on Rocky Fielding. This is the same Clenelo who approached Amir Khan's team with a fight offer, asking Khan to move up 2 weight divisions and when Khan asked for a re-hydration clause Clenelo refused. Personally, I would love to see Jacobs disregard the re-hydration clause, pay the fines as large as they are, and beat the drug cheating scumbag into a pile of poop. Like I always say of Clenelo; he is an elite talent, with an elite level of protection.
He shouldn’t worry about the second day weigh in. Maybe he is losing 1 million dollar but he already makes 15 at least and if he beats Canelo higher paydays are coming.
If coming in at 175 instead of 170 drastically improves his chances then it might be worth 500K Edit: Jacobs is a very well spoken guy. Hope he wins.
Its all rigged against Jacobs anyway. He just has to be smart about this. Think worst case scenario at all times to protect yourself at all times.
