I can see Ward completely spoiling this fight. Smothering Kovalev or dancing on the outside, never staying in the mid-range.

    What do you think?

I hope not, because that would mean I was dead wrong about who wins it.
There's one guy in there who wants it to be ugly, boring and uneventful and another that wants it to be all action.

If it's a snoozer, Ward wins.

have to put "unsure"... think 30% is above low but not really that high either.

    I'd say it's always possible

Kovalev Hopkins wasn't a great fight either and it was a dominant Kovalev points win as well

Big fights especially involving a defensive master mind can tend to turn into long drawn out pose fests. this may happen

I do believe the skillsets of both men plus the tension of a Kovalev KO punch will create a tension through out the fight that might create excitement on its own

Has Ward ever had an exciting fight?

Well, Kovalev fought a 49 year old Hopkins.

And Kovalev doesn't do much in-fighting. So i'm sure that will be part of Ward's plan. To pull a old-age B-Hop move by making it ugly.

I hope this isn't the case but Ward has the talent/craft to make it a snooze fest for sure.

Kovalev actually does his best work from the outside and he is also great at closing the distance. I've said before that he probably has the "springiest" step in that division. Ward staying on the outside is just going to get him pieced up probably and with Kovalev's power you don't want to take a lot of those type of shots. If Ward tries that what I expect to happen is he would get cracked eventually, try to retreat, and Kovalev would punch and Ward would probably end up leaving himself open for more bombs.

Ward could try to make this a boring fight, but he won't be coming to lose and Kovalev doesn't seem content to have a boring fight since this is a big PPV for him. I don't expect this to be a snoozefest. I don't like a lot of either guy's fights, but we should see some high level boxing in this fight and the style clash should make this an entertaining bout.

I don't remember Hopkins spoiling I just remember Kovalev keeping Hopkins outside and hitting him just enough and getting back out of range

Kind of doing just enough to win without getting dragged into Hopkins fight

I suspect he will try this vs Ward and only pursue a KO if he manages to really rock him

I meant the type of fight Hopkins had with Calzaghe. I can see Ward trying to spoil the fight and trying to do just enough to win on points because of Kovalev's power.

I can totally see this fight being like Calzaghe-Hopkins was. One guy trying to fight and the other guy clinching, holding, wrestling, grabbing, headbutting, etc.

Hope not especially since this is a PPV fight.

Its all based on the eye of the beholder, If the action doesn't meet a particular viewers definition of excitement then sure it can be a snooze fest. Boxing has always been an art to me and every artist paints in his own style some of it is appreciated some of it gets lost in translation. Both these men operate on a high level and paint at a degree rarely seen today. I'm almost positive I will enjoy this fight for the clash of styles and the quality of the combatants.

I recall watching Floyd vs Cotto 3x one weekend because of the wonderful dynamic it produced. I sat down in the gym with a couple buddies and my old trainer and we dissected every round. Awesome stuff, at the same token watching a Corrales vs Castillo type of fight satisfies that inner barbarian, even then the slips and in-fighting was superb.

I love to play devils advocate at times, what does it say about SK if he can't produce and ultimately win despite the supposed clinching, holding etc....

Don't hate the player hate the game, even if Ward uses these "dirty" tactics he still has to land and score points to win. The fighter with the ability to control the fight by implementing and executing his craft to a point that his opponent has no recourse or rebuttal has shown he is the alpha.

I can guarantee you, if Ward wins, a LOT of people will call it a snoozer.

I don't think it will be boring at all. Ward in his last few fights has showed a more aggressive side to his game (I know, I know, those guys aren't Kovalev) and though I think he'll fight a little more cautious in this fight, he'll mix in some smart offense and implement an inside game on Kovalev. Who knows, if Kovalev presses the attack we might see the best Ward yet!

Well we all know Kovalev comes to seek and destroy that's why his nick is Krusher, on other hand we have Son of a God so expect some salt and bred from Ward ;)
Well in serious note it could be snooze fest if it turns in to catch me if you can sh**
