With Wlad it was more a technical thing from years of Emanuel Stewards coaching to avoid being knocked out,I’m sure in a rematch he’d of put in on the line like he did against AJ. Wilder being so unorthodox and somewhat thick is unlikely to think about technique and freeze but Fury would be advised to take advantage if he does freeze up early as Wilder is so dangerous late on.
Let’s just hope it’s fair as both Wilder and AJ are guilty of talking about facing each other before they’ve even won their upcoming fight. There’s just so many tricks they can pull,if Wilder goes Berzerk as is his way, even if he’s only hitting arms, shoulders, gloves the Ref could stop the fight. I could go on re low blows, rabbit punches ect but I’ll only wind myself up lol. Fury is mad if he thinks he can win by doing what he did in Germany albeit that wasn’t his usual way, needs to put out numbers imo.
The Fury that beat Chisora, throwing that jab out all the time in between combinations would be a nightmare for anyone period, other than that flash knockdown has he ever taken any punishment?him and Saunders just don’t ever seem to get hit,let alone get involved in any battles. I’m afraid all that stuff about how his legs have gone is also BS as he’s never been reliant on his footwork,to my eyes it’s all upper body stuff with him.
If Wilder is pregnant it's likely. Not much time left to flush it out now, I see why Fury is donating his purse
Wilder grew up in Alabama where there is a lot of big-bass wh#te guys driving around in pick-up trucks at night. Wilder has already seen & heard that type of attempted intimidation before. If Wilder goes down, he will go down fighting.
If the fight had been in the UK maybe, both temprature and mental wise had been a possibility. At home I hardly think so.
Wlad was way more methodical in his approach, and Fury was able to stifle that method. Even if Wilder does find Fury awkward, which he will, Fury will still have to worry about someone that won’t be gun shy, even from half an opportunity. I’m confident that if Wlad let his hands go, he would have got Fury out of there. But the reality is that he didn’t avoid Wlad’s bombs all night, he simply stopped Wlad from throwing them. Wilder’s less methodical, so won’t wait for perfect conditions to let that big right loose.
it would be cool if he kept getting hit in the face and responded with "BRONZ BOMBER" each time. Though the punch would cut into his yell each time, so it'd be "BRONZ BOM...owwwwww!"
Yeah I'm the same. The more I see of the build up the more I think Fury could find enough of his old self to pull it off. He's clearly in the best shape since he beat Wlad, in sparring he's looked more mobile than the previous 2 comeback fights. From a style perspective he clearly has the advantage, but as you say, inactive, nearly 400lbs, mental and drug problems, that's a hell of a lot to recover from in such a short period of time. Fury's own father says he isn't ready that he's only 50%, but is that just a part of the mind games Fury is playing. Fury doesn't need to be 100% to win, if he's 80% he cruises to a points decision making Wilder look like a novice. But that's the unknown factor which makes picking a winner tricky we really don't know what version of Fury we are going to get.
The more Fury jabs the more openings are made for Wilders right hand to knock his block off. And Fury can't win through inactivity like the Wlad fight either, he could maybe survive by running but he won't win. He's done for.
Agreed. Wlad froze because his style which had been drilled into him by Steward relies on him getting off first then spoiling via clinching to prevent counters. With Fury his usual style was rendered ineffective as he couldn't get off first due to Fury's movement and reach and Wlad froze because he couldn't break his normal style and kept trying to do what he usually does to try and win as that's always worked for him previously. Wlad is a great heavyweight with a lot of natural ability and tremendously disciplined but he's never been a smart boxer. He twice gassed in the ring, throwing far too much, he isn't a boxer with the natural ring instincts or ring smarts to adapt like he needed to vs Fury. Wlad needed Steward to do his thinking for him, without Steward in the corner he had no way of figuring out Fury during the fight. I can't see Wilder freezing for the reasons you've stated. He's so unorthodox I don't think he knows what he's going to do half the time. He isn't so stuck in a certain way of fighting like Wlad, Wilder get's out boxed he'll just throw everything at Fury, forget technique, forget strategy, he'll just throw bombs because when he's struggled before that's what he's done.
He'll get frozen when Fury lands a solid shot on his fragile mandible....frozen stiff on the canvas, that is.
