Change TKO victories and create cut victories

In a boxing record book it looks bad that TKO is not differentiated from cuts. It's pretty deceiving for example with Lennox Lewis and Vitali Klitschko. Lewis won by tko6, but it's deceiving because Vitali kicked his ass throughout the entire night and only lost because the doctor stopped it. Lewis did not have vitali on the ropes or totally out on his feet while dominating him, in fact it was the opposite that was happening.

Thus, for the outside fan, there needs to be a distinction. The Lewis-Vitali victory, like others, should read Lewis cuts6 Vitali. That way there is less confusion, because the outside fan may believe that Lewis truly stopped Vitali himself, even though it was the doctor.

This should apply to all fights, and any fights stopped due to cuts/injuries. RTD also means you quit, so I don't get why there wouldn't be an extra distinction that is absolutely necessary as far as a record book goes.

There's still only one victor though.

Ok--Should it be changed as well if a guy is losing 60-54 on ALL cards but then lands a helluva lucky punch and stops the guy actually winning the fight--

"Oh but he won the first 6 rounds--he was kicking his ass but got caught by a lucky punch"

Whats the difference. The outcome is still the same.

How about answer a simple question--

Would you have preferred that VK win the fight with Lewis, but have his career ended due to the damage to his eye,

    OR

Have the fight stopped when it was as a legit stoppage and VK go on to have a very good career after the fact?

Change RTD victories and create "guy quit on his stool while leading on the scorecards" victories. Byrd quit9 Vitali.

well not going to answer your stupid question, but your point fails. That still is a full out KO victory. I'm saying add a cuts victory, and it doesn't matter if someone that received the cuts was losing/winning. I just want a distinction between that and TKO. If there is a distinction between TKO and RTD, why not TKO and cuts?

  11. Only a Klitschko fan would do this. They obviously don't know what the word "technical" means. Vitali was unable to continue fighting because the cuts were caused by Lewis bombs.
    Lewis TKO6 The Frankenstein Monster
    Byrd TKO9 The Frankenstein Monster

No, refs just need to do their jobs and send fights to scorecards when cuts are caused by illegal tactics.

My question(s) were no more stupid than your desire to change the entire history of boxing.

Here are a few other stupid questions for you:

Who is going to go back through the entire history of the sport and make the change as you desire? Is there even enough evidence to change such rulings 40-50 years ago. Or do you only want to change the one fight that seems to matter to you most?

And the last stupid question--one which I seems to be ignored--was it a legit stoppage? That's pretty cut and dry. In the end, that is the only answer that really matters.

then you would have legions of guys who when they figure they cant win and they may be knocked out, to say they cant see because of a cut to save face.... too much bull**** could come from it...wont work....
