According to an article on the Scene it looks like ESPN Friday Night Fights will undergo a big change after its May 22 card(Boxcino finals) Instead of smaller weekly cards they will be going to a once a month card of higher quality. Cards will also move from ESPN 2 to regular ESPN and will move from Friday Nights to Saturday nights. Not sure if he is doing all of them or just some but Al Haymon is doing time buys for the new set up.
Eh, not something I prefer. I like the current format even if the fights aren't between well the best of fighters.
I'd agree and like this new format, if it does go down this way. On one hand I really liked having that weekly card. Even if there were no major fights on a weekend there was always Friday Night Fights. There's some pros and cons here but I think I prefer the quality to the quantity.
My suggestion for a change... capital punishment for incompetent/corrupt judges. FNF, home of the robbery.
I really enjoy FNF because every Friday I get together with my brothers and get wasted listening to Teddy Atlas and watching the fights. Sometimes in that order because the fights a'int always decent but Teddy is always entertaining. I need my fix weekly, ya bastads! I'm a needy bastad!
So that's my problem? I'm not high enough when I'm watching Teddy? I'm gonna take this under advisement.
Yeah but he can just bankroll the new monthly Saturday night programming on ESPN. Can't whoever ran FNF before just...continue to? :?
I tuned in for the season premiere, and literally fell asleep to the awful fights. Woke up in the morning with the tv still on. I don't remember FNF being that bad before. They've had some great fights on there over the years. I haven't watched any since. Has it been any better lately?
