I think in most close fights there should be more even rounds scored PERIOD! The stationing bodies should really start encouraging their judges to score more even rounds with the intention of avoiding more scrutinized decisions. In far too many evenly contested fights, rounds are being given away by the slightest of margins. I have a problem when (fighter A) thoroughly out boxed (fighter B) in round 1 and then (fighter B) getting the favor in a very close round 2 that could have gone to either fighter; consequently, the fight is scored even after 2 rounds.

I also think if a fight is scored even after 12 rounds there should be one "overtime" round. The decision would just have to be revealed in a timelier manner so the fighters don’t get too cold while waiting.

These changes would do wonders for boxing IMO and would go along way in repairing the sport's tainted image in the American mainstream.
