Hopkins is a mean, prison-hardened, street-savvy, master counter-punching, ultra-experienced S.O.B. Calzaghe is simply not going to be up to the task at 175, for the first time, for the first time in the insane media environment of the US, in Vegas, where Hopkins the boxing instutition is going to get the benefit of the doubt on all rulings by the ref and all judging. Hopkins is going to walk into the ring at 185-190 and Calzaghe has never been countered by a 185-pound punch. It's going to be a long, long night for Calzaghe. I know he's not Hatton, but I think the outcome is going to be similar to Hatton's latest experience in Vegas.
...and that means he hits harder than anything calzaghe's felt right? get the **** outta here. more weight doesn't automatically mean more punching power. hopkins hasn't scored a KO for ****ing years and he sure as hell isn't shifting a granite chinned guy like calzaghe outta there.
More weight doesn't = more power. Kessler hits much harder than Bernard. My prediction : Hopkins gets TKO'd in 9
Dear King Dan, Calzaghe has fought the following fights in a partisan atmosphere, well and truly outside of his Cardiff comfort zone: Mark Delaney (21-0) in his own backyard in a raucous atmosphere without much support for the British title and won by KO. Former world champion Chris Eubank (45-2-2) in England at the height of Eubank's popularity Former world champion Robin Reid (26-1-1) of England, in England with Calzaghe fans being outnumbered. Former world champion Richie Woodhall (26-2) of England, in England with Calzaghe fans being about 50/50. Former world champion David Staire (22-1) again of England, in England. Mario Veit (45-1) of Germany, in Germany with a 90% pro Veit crowd. Now he's fighting an American in America who isn't half as well supported as most of the guys listed above. I'd suggest that at least half of the Las Vegas crowd will be pro-Calzaghe. Calzaghe has been out of his comfort zone quite a few times. Being a Welshman defending your title against an Englishman in England is not the most welcoming of atmospheres. I doubt there's anything that can happen in the USA of America that Calzaghe hasn't already encountered apart from his opponent.

not one of those guys when they fought Calzaghe has what Hopkins will be bringing to the table on the 19th, reality check! it will soon be here and no amount of rationalization and no matter how many times you mention he beat Eubanks...... it wont change a damn thing, Hopkins is going to be the best guy he has ever fought, old and not at his best but still good enough to scrub Joe
Get it into your thick skull you donkey, I was responding to the dimwit who said Calzaghe had "never been out of his comfort zone". Not once did I mention that any of those guys are good enough to wash Bernard's trunks. Get with it you fat tub of lard.
Care to share the reason why you changed your mind all of a sudden, last time we spoke you were a definite for JC!!!!!? What made you change your opinion?
