My style is counter puncher i like being at mid range countering. im 5'9 with a some what average reach but i can brawl if i have to. trying to be more like a boxer/puncher. when i change i do good but i eventually go back to counter punchin style

I think style is an instinct like anything else. I always try to take it to the other guy, and when I was younger sometimes I ran into physically superior fighters I couldn't do that to, and tried to counter punch, but it wasn't my style, so I learned to fight off the back foot, but I'm still just not a counter puncher. If I'm not getting off first I don't feel like I'm winning the fight.

Very hard to change your natural instinct when you are in a tough, tough fight, the "true" style emerges, I think. You can change it a little when you are playing around or in working on stuff, but I think its an inborn mindset.

You know, if you are making tons of money to put people in the seat its one thing, but if you are fighting for you, because you like it, because you like the challenge and the victory, you have to do what's natural to you to win. Its a very dangerous sport to be doing something that isn't natural to you when you could use your instinctive skills, maybe win, and not get hit.

Everybody who fights enough is in a boring fight eventually. You have to worry about your health.

I think you should never put yourself in a box as in saying, this is my style and that's it. Sometimes you'll face a fighter who's style neutralizes your style and if you haven't practiced anything else, then you're screwed.
