whether you think signing is worth it just do it takes seconds as said it may not make them change any decision (if in fact one has been made) but will atleast remind them of amount of people that want to watch boxing
Nice thought but it wouldn't work. BoxingNews tried a few years ago and it didn't get much interest. Personally I just don't think Boxing works on Terrestrial TV anymore. The only thing that would work was if we petitioned the govermant to get boxing added to the Ofcom Protected Sports list. It's what stop the World Cup and 6 Nationa being on Sky Sports. I think that it would be realistic to try and get the goverment to add any world title fight involving a British fighter to Category B which states that "These events may be shown on a subscription channel if highlights are made available to a free-to-air channel."
Will C5 even know about this petition? I would suggest anybody wanting them to keep showing boxing should send them a letter. Not an email, or clicking an online petition, but a real letter that somebody has to open and read.
The first problem is, how the hell do you get a definition to the term 'world title'? If we, who know a bit about boxing are arguing over it, how can it be made into law? The reality is pro boxing has been built around pure capitalism. I suspect the only time the government is going to get involved in the sport again, is when it comes time to ban it.
@hughiefury My next fight is April 20th New York MSG! Channel 5. I hope you can all watch it. Thank you
I signed it but i'm sure how much use this petition is going to be due to past experiences with them, hopefully some good comes from it though. :good
