After all the hype about having fighters on terrestrial tv what did it actually achieve?

Fury is more known for his twitter ramblings than his fights to the general public.

The career of Galahad has stopped.

Eubank Jr and Degale have slowed down, who aside from the hardcore knows they exist.

It was great in theory to have terrestrial tv involved but sadly it was a pisspot channel working in conjunction with a pisspot promoter producing pisspot shows.

the problem is they didn't actually market the fights. unless you were a boxing fan, to watch a fight on channel 5 you would have had to stumble across it on a saturday night.

No arguments there but the point is that a golden opportunity has been wasted.

They know that the Wlad fight is unlikely to happen anytime soon, if at all. Fury's biggest rival just got blasted out so interest in that fight has vanished, do they want to pay out to see Fury beat no mark top 30 contenders? They could put on a budget reality tv show and generate more viewers.

i keep saying it, wrong man/men for the job. Should Sky have more promoters...YES. Should other channels show Boxing...YES. Should Maloney/Hennesey/Frank be given another shot....No.

Time to give some of the new breed a go.

Fully in agreement with Maloney and Hennessy, sooner they **** off the better.

I like Hatton and hope he bounces back on the domestic scene, deserves another crack with Sky, shame to see Quigg, Buckland etc not getting exposure.

Frank still signing fighters though, I don't think he'll be going anywhere soon.

I'd be surprised if Hennessy found a home other than Boxnation.

Yep. I'm on boxing websites every single day and there was one Fury fight I didn't know was happening until about 2 or 3 days before the fight. That's shocking promoting. How the **** is any non-boxing fan going to be aware of these events, when even the biggest boxing fans barely know when they're happening?

Every fight Hennessy has had on Channel 5 has been poorly promoted, with the possible exception of Fury/Chisora.
