Richards wasn't impressive, some posters were saying he beats Buasti....I don't see it.

 

It's shocking how this forum has gone from not giving a **** about women's boxing to knowing everything about the various female boxers and actually watching the fights and accepting them as main events.
They will buy whatever is being sold to them.
There's a 10 page+ thread on "Shannon Courtenay" here on this forum, whoever the **** that is.

 

She is good - for a woman. Just like I'm sure Arsenal women or whoever are good at football - compared to other women. Does that mean I want to watch them? No.

You could go to an amateur show and watch young lads put on entertaining fights with more skill, power and athleticism than any of these women. It's the same again with football when the USA, the greatest women's team of all time, got hammered by a bunch of 14 year-olds from a local Dallas club. So if we are judging by merit then mid tier schoolboy sports are more deserving of being given mainstream coverage as it is a much higher standard than elite women.

It's a watered down, inferior product and we are being ripped off by having it on what are supposed to be a marquee top level events. And that's before you even get into the fact that a lot of people simply find watching women fight to be a bit unpalatable.

 

I wonder if these people when they go to work or down the pub and lads are talking about football, do they berate them for only watching the men's game?

I can just picture it, "Oh so you watched Liverpool and Chelsea play out a boring 0-0 draw, but weren't interested in West Ham ladies vs Everton ladies which was a 4-3 thriller. Women can be more entertaining than the men you sexist pigs"

If you did that everyone would just think you were some nutter, yet that is exactly what they are doing here with women's boxing. And all because they've been conditioned into accepting it just so promoters can fill up their cards on the cheap.

It's actually pretty strange behavior the more you think about it.

It was not Eddie Hearn's biggest boxing event in recent times, but the main fight was pretty good and then we can rejoice that the boxers got a pay day even though it was very sad to see Molina.

It’s all relative mate. As women’s boxing goes she’s good but it doesn’t mean I don’t think the whole thing is toss. It’s like me thinking a League 2 player is good but compared to the Prem they’re crap.

 

A lot of people enjoy League 2 football. Does that not make them serious football fans?I enjoy all football and all boxing regardless of gender or elitism.Still cant understand people with an agenda regarding womans boxing just leave it to all of us who enjoy it

 

Didn’t say it doesn’t make them fans, I’ve watched my team in League 2 for years mate, but it doesn’t change the fact the standard is poor.

 

But would you pay the same price to watch lower league football? Should lower league football be given TV slots on an equal footing with premiership games?

If you want to watch women fight then fine, that's up to you. But it should not be on main cards along side the real thing.

 

I accept that but the point is people still enjoy it same with the womens boxing.Of coarse it not the greatest of standards but enjoyable nonetheless

 

Lower leagues are why I have to get on my local river boat to watch 3pm kick offs…
