Awesome, that should be fun!

    You give Inoue any chance?

Certainly give him a chance but he'd be the under dog. Think he'd be completely mullered by Hurd if he gets past Williams sadly

Agreed, but then I also believe now that Hurd would smash Williams (and I say that despite quite liking J-Rock and not caring much for Swift)

Dong isn't the only ultra tall junior middle in China, it seems. Cheng Su is a 5'11" southpaw and is 12-2-1 (6)...

@Somachenko what was the deal with the dude in I think the penultimate match, some Choi Tseveenpurev lookalike (complete with the mullet)? Did he win?

I was only half paying attention (making yet another pot of coffee) and missed the end of that one.

I think you’re referring to Rongguo Wu against Wanchai Nianghansa for WBC Asian Silver Flyweight title? He won by TKO5 after a barrage of punches with Nianghansa backed against the ropes. I think there was one final body punch that did him in but the ref kinda stepped in before things got too bad.

Actually it turns out the mulleted southpaw I was thinking of was from the match directly preceding Wu vs. Nianghansa, the 6-rounder which starts about 1:17:00 into the video you posted:

Sailike isn't a Mongol, but a native of Ürümqi (so roughly as far north as you can go in populated China before you hit Mongolia (or Kazakhstan if you're bearing northwest...or Russia if you head due north and perfectly thread a needle's eye).

He lost on points to Yanggang Luo - probably fair to call a robbery no matter who you deem the victor on a RBR scoring basis, as the featherfisted Luo (now 4-0 without a professional stoppage) ought to have received at least a couple dozen warnings if not several deductions for some flagrant penalties throughout (mostly rabbit punches...hitting Sailike from his "business" to "party" end repeatedly without consequence)

Yeah I actually realized that after and had a whole response typed to you but got distracted midway through and forgot  haha. A lot of the Uyghurs (I believe that’s what he ethnically is) end up being tough nosed journeymen these days who have to win by knockout if they’re going to get a fair shake (at least from what I’ve tended to observe, outside of the elite ones). However, there was another Uyghur on the card who actually got the decision coming out of the B corner so it’s a bit hard to say they intentionally robbed Ayati. It was probably just inexperienced and shitty judging to match the reffing on the night lol. The rabbit punches were so obvious I was shocked he didn’t get a point deducted lol.
