Didn't Povetkin - after he sparred Helenius - say that he thought Helenius could win the title? He felt that Robbie was really good.

I don't know much about Martin but I suspect it would be a good battle, put Chisora Pulev on the card.

Helenius is a scalp that Martin can get. Going in it would be seen as an even fight but I think Martin is better. I thought Martin was on his way to outpointing Glazkov.

I recently saw Martin-Glazkov in Slow-mo and by the look of it, I felt that Glazkov edged the first two rounds by a few punches landed. But I'm totally with you, Martin would have won it at the end anyways.

I think that Helenius is a bad matchup for Martin really. He is bigger and stronger than him, and in my opinion packs a better punch and chin.

Martin is a fighter that thrives in the middle of the ring, where he can be the ring-general, but if Helenius nullifies and takes away that security for Martin, I'm not convinced that he could adapt and come out on the backfoot.

Martin is a possessed fighter that is perfect at catching fishes when he sees them - the ability to time in speedy fighters behind his jab.

Helenius is a giant with slow movement, but great strength and power, if he doesn't respect Martin's power, Martin's biggest advantage is gone. Also Helenius is slower than Martin, but still fast enough to catch Martin, because Marin as well as Helenius is not that hard to catch - as long as the size between the two of them is compatible with each other - which they are.

But chin's gonna be tested - and answered, either way.

Martin should target the likes of Takam, Pulev, Scott, Glazkov, Cunningham, and even Haye and Joshua - instead of Helenius.

Also: I believe that both Robert and Charles are underrated on the HW-scene!

 Fools acting as if Helenius called Martin out and not the other way around. :patsch

Martin doesn't have to face a mandatory for quite some time. Yet, he has been calling out everyone.
Helenius is a good 1st defence of his title with a KO of this mediocre Swede.

Just look at Charles Martin vs. Vyacheslav Glazkov and must say that Helenius will knock out Martin Easily. Slow, low skill level and not heavy handed. KO is coming if that fight will come.

Helenius better watch out for Martin's telekinetic vibration punches. One jab by Martin and Helenius knees are going to break.

Sadly, you're right. Many will or could be atg in against martin. Loses first defense unless he's nice enough to wait for the acl reconstruction surgery to heal from his last opponent. It's possible he thinks that match needs a read ending, or find the 2nd most tentive and very fragile cw to defend against.

I'm all for it, he should go after the $$$ and put in offers with haye or joshua, at least he'll get retirement $$$ out of the beating that's inevitably waiting for him

Well, you're talking povetkin. Barely a top 10 hw in any era, considerably further down that line in his own era

Whoever Martin defends against first will beat him. Martin isn't very good.

The only question will be the date.

Tony Tucker is currently the man who holds the record for the shortest reign as champion - interestingly, also with the IBF.

Tucker reigned from May 30 to Aug. 1, 1987. (Just over 90 days).

Since he won the belt on January 16, Martin needs to push the date back to at least Saturday, April 23. If they fight on Saturday, April 16, he's going to be the new record holder.

Because he isn't walking out of the ring with it, no matter who he fights. (Unless it's Arreola. He isn't very good, either.)

Helenius shamelessly ducked a G-Sora rematch.
