Martin was recently in talks to fight Andy Ruiz Jr

But the potential bout fell apart when Ruiz Jr needed knee surgery.

    Martin claims:

"I shot him a personal DM," Martin said about Ruiz Jr. "He left it unread."

"We were training for it. The next thing? He had a surgery.

"Now I pray for no crazy calls saying that Ortiz is injured.

"Andy knew I would have whupped his ass. That's why he didn't answer me.

"Because he knew that he didn't want to fight me
    ."

Charles "i walk this earth like a god" Martin also has a lot to say about Deontay

"He lacks in a lot of areas.

"I am pretty difficult to hit. You can't hit me flush because I never just come in straight."

    "I am always strategic."

I'm honestly curious of Martin. I think he's better than what he's shown, he has a little potential.

Martin is 36, out of shape, has no skill, no power, no heart and no ring iq. He has no route to victory against Ortiz and will by snoring by round 3

But it would be absolutely hilarious if he beat Ortiz. The Wilder fans would have to take the mental gymnastics to the next level to convince themselves that Shiontay is an ATG when his best win Ortiz lost to a part time milk man

He should just hurry up and fight someone rather than buggering around on social media.

I have a Mandela effect memory of Wilder fighting Martin, it just makes so much sense that they would have fought.

In a way it's one of the most perplexing omissions on his resume.

In a few days, Martin is gonna destroy Wilder's resume by emphatic UD against Ortiz.

I was actually quite impressed by him against Washington. Its a shame he went awol after losing to Joshua because he could have become an entertaining gate keeper.

Seems to have wasted most of his prime years.

I think ppl underestimating Martin quite a bit. I mean we all have that embarrassing performance against Joshua in mind but he has been rebuilding his career quite a bit since then and looked pretty solid for a HW in his last few fights against decent opposition like Kownacki or Washington. I mean Washington beat Helenius and Kownacki is a bum skill-wise but tough and applies a lot of pressure and Martin was dominating the Washington fight and beat the crap out of Kownacki in the second half. Martin also has some size and pop for sure, he dropped Dawejko and made him quit after the fourth and we all know Dawejko is tough as old boots. Dawejko only stopped twice in nine career losses and Martin was one of them, the other guy was hard hitting Zhan Kossobutskiy and that stoppage was debatable.

While i'm favoring Ortiz skill 4 skill he'll turn 43 in a few months and he also looked extremely fragile and old in his last few fights. I know people are claiming he was winning the second Wilder fight until he got caught and that is correct but it was a pretty low volume fight with both guys landing next to nothing but Ortiz sneaking out the rounds with his left counter like he did in the first fight and Wilder was clueless defending it or moving away.

If Martin doesn't get stopped in the first 3-4 rounds i think he has a good chance to take over like he did with Kownacki. Ortiz was hit way too often and way too clean by Hammer. Martin also has a decent enough jab to make it close if Ortiz just throws his 20-30 punches per round like he did often in the past. Ortiz also doesn't move his head and if he just rushes forward in a straight line i can see Martin unloading with that left.

I'm not calling a Martin Win here but i wouldn't be shocked if he pulls it off. Ortiz is old and shot, and i'm saying this as a MASSIVE Luis Ortiz fanboy. People who know me can confirm that, i had so many discussions here in the past defending Ortiz but his chin was cracked twice big time by Wilder and he fought basically 30 seconds in the last 25 months....there are so many questionmarks sourrounding him including injuries and all that bad stuff. I wish Ortiz all the best and i hope he gets another title shot but man...i'm not even slightly positive about his chances and i think one clean left hand by Martin could knock him out.

It would be hilarious if Martin upset Ortiz.

I've just noticed Sanchez is now fighting Hammer instead of Negron , which is an improvement of opponent (although Danchex should really be fighting better quality oppositionwith his talent).
