The last time Wilder faced Ortiz was over 2 years ago and Ortiz looked spent in that one. He looked much better in the first, which must be almost 4 years ago now.

Even 6 years ago, people were talking about Ortiz being an old man. He's obviously not any younger now. He will lose again and look bad at some point. I'm not sure how that makes Wilder look bad or degrades his win against Ortiz (which is a good but not great win).

    Martin is also 35.

Fair points, I mean Ortiz was beginning to look his age back when he was training with Joe Walcott

Martin is a Glass Jawed mentally weak fighter. It’s all false bravado.

Ortiz is by far the better boxer but he's ancient . I expect a decent scrap with Ortiz edging a points win for the pensioners

I don't necessarily know about "by far" - he looks the slicker of the two against his typical opposition (journeymen) but that doesn't mean too much once you start stepping up...

Martin's nowt special, but Ortiz isn't either really.

Prime Vs prime I'd fancy Ortiz to a UD... But Ortiz is ancient now and how this goes is going to depend on how much Ortiz has declined physically.

    Could go either way IMHO.

I think this fight is closer than most people think. People make Martin out to be a bum but he’s not that bad. Im not saying he’s gonna win, but he should make a fight out of it. I think the safe bet is Ortiz by stoppage but it wouldn’t shock me if this fight is really boring and goes to the cards that can go either way. Also it’s complete bull**** that this cost money

I was going to buy because of my boy Sanchez but honestly im probably going to just watch showbizz's reaction live stream on youtube. The fact that this sh*t is on PPV is ridiculous

If Martin was half as good as he says he is he'd be invincible lol.

But the reality is since winning an IBF eliminator vs Washington nearly 2 years ago he's been happy to sit on his ranking hoping to get an easy final eliminator but ended up getting mandated to fight Hrgovic and so said he was injured and with no obvious easy route to a title shot or a big fight seems to have decided to roll the dice vs the ancient Ortiz in the hope he's probably shot.

Maybe Ortiz at 42 still has enough left to blast out Martin or maybe he's ready to be taken. This could end up looking like Whyte/Povetkin, Ortiz looks shot as the inferior but younger Martin makes Ortiz look vulnerable and either we get Ortiz landing a counter and flattening Martin like we saw in Whyte/Povetkin 1 or we have Martin prevail as Ortiz's advanced age proves to be the decider and Martin stops Ortiz like in Whyte/Povetkin 2.

Don't you see it ? The mindgames, the psychological warfare. He's mentioning big names like Ruiz, Whyte, and Wilder and claiming they pulled out of fighting him not only to destroy their reputations but to install fear and doubt into Ortiz whilst boosting his own confidence

He even fought Anthony Joshua and quit in round 2 to download information about a top tier conter puncher. All just to prepare for a bout against King Kong. It all led up to this moment

Martin is a highly intelligent individual, only now is that becoming crystal clear.
