I wonder how much they are asking. If I'm not wrong Martin made like 250-300k vs Glazkov. I'm guessing they are going for something like 10-fold?

I hope the fight happens, leaning towards Joshua if he can get Martin out of there by 5.

I also wonder what the terms were. It's one thing to offer a fight it's another to offer a fight with terms that the "champ" (even though we all know Martin isn't the real man in the division) will accept.

I mean, AJ's demands could be so one sided that Martin would be a fool to take them, on the other hand, Martin could be acting like a giant diva and refuse to accept certain reasonable requests (like holding the fight in the UK).

Well if you bare in mind, the Joshua-Whyte fight did at least 400,000 buys, and if you don't count pubs (that are charged around £175) and the gates (it sold out on the first day), I reckon the fight generated at least £8m- around $12m, and for this, they probably know they don't need to stack the undercard- and might even do more buys with people not saving for Xmas- I think he is probably asking for about £3m

Martin could wait until Joshua becomes mando- then he gets 75%, however Martin is probably looking at the IBF top 15 and thinking he could well lose to any of those guys. So it may be the biggest payday he'll ever get, if Joshua decides to neglect a final eliminator and fight someone like Haye, and he's left to fight someone like Carlos Takam.

Surprised if this comes off - obviously AJ beats him, but just thought he'd give himself another year.

If it does, I'd guess it'll be in the UK on Sky PPV. Should be a massive earner for them both. Joshua made £3m from Whyte - possibly make something similar in this fight with Martin picking up something close to that too.

3 mil? That's insane, Martin is a nobody and won a title because other guy slipped on canvas.
He deserves no more than 500k.

I guess with PBC going broke Martin wants that cashout money :nod

Using my mobile and ****ing pressed the wrong selection and I am the only one to pick Martin by points, very embarrassing! Lol.

Nice to see two young HWs get in the ring and take a risk. Martin could have protected his belt fighting low risk competition. Joshua can punch.....

Well he has to fight someone in the IBF top 15, and I could make a case for any of those guys beating Martin

People thought the last "next big thing" in UK heavyweights was going to crush the big southpaw that got brought over there to be an opponent, too.

Martin's going to knock out Joshua. Book it.

I've picked Martin on points also. I think his awkward southpaw stance will mindf%*k with Joshua and Martin will pop a few scoring shots throughout the fight to come home on points...

Maybe I've been hanging with Aerrola :rasta

I've got Martin by KO, he's got an excellent KO rate and AJ's chin is good but not granite and going by his endurance against Whyte (he was active but slowing by 7) and the fact he hasn't faced a southpaw and has already looked to get a bit flummoxed by returning fire from even a decent orthodox... guessing Martin is banking on taking Joshua's 0 as a clever but risky gamble to get at least a bit pay day but possibly also to cement himself as a legit title holder.

Lets be honest, if Martin sparks AJ then Wilder is going to be the only title holder looking like he still really has something to prove

Will you give Joshua any credit when that doesn't happen?

And will Martin be on the sauce like the last one? :think

Martin is not a big puncher. He's only fought cans, who are generally are the guys, that the guys who Joshua beats have wins over. Whyte is a much bigger puncher. Whyte has sparred with him and mentioned on an interview yesterday his power is nothing- obviously nothing needed to be said about what he think of Joshua's power.
