Walcott had some kind genes and he was older then written on the tin, on the tin it said he was 37… one of the best built heavies before the roid era too (60s onwards) I wish he’d been managed properly from the beginning, mishandled talent he would’ve been closer to Archie Moore then Uncle Jimmy.
great footage, a cautious uneventful posed showdown waiting for opportune moments, which not only did Walcott exploit, it was becoming clearer in the last few rounds that he was catching Charles with his pet Left Hook. Energy saving economical moment, timed & controlled until it was ideal to unleash greater exchanges is what aloud these fighters such busy long lasting careers. Heavyweight Boxing has always been a but like that compared to lighter divisions.
Walcott was excellent this is my favourite KO this week. JJW knew exactly when Charles was going to jab here, that’s how much predictably can hurt you, if I know exactly when you will jab even once the fight is probably over, it only takes one opportunity, one instance where you’re made to do something by the opponent and it’s light out, that’s a true pro.
