In August 1990 both Moorer and Prince Charles fought on the same bill to help hype their November Unification match, that never was. If they had met in November 1990 who wins? Moorer (21-0) or Williams (29-4-2).
At the time I thought Williams was peaking. I think he would have stopped Moorer in the late rounds. Williams was quick and strong. The only thing which hurt him was he liked fighitng on the inside, which might not be so great with Moorer.
Williams was damn good, but, he'll never get enough votes to be a "Haller" up in New York........ Moorer is borderline Hall of Fame right now and might sneak in down the road.?.? I'll go with Moorer with his brute power at 175 in 1990 over Williams... Moorer is also younger, too..... MR.BILL
Moorer at LHW was a real banger, but Williams was tough and competent. Moorer was technically very good and with Steward was much busier than he would later become as a HW. I suspect Moorers size advantage along with his superior ability and southpaw stance carry him to a mid round stoppage
i will take moorer to win by stoppage but i do feel that williams is one of those fighters that will always be underrated and could well get a win here
Moorer's limitations were starting to show though by then, and he was struggling to make weight. Williams chin would of been an issue, so Moorer is always going to have a chance of getting the job done. But I suspect Williams is experienced enough to edge it, possibly off the deck in a tough, bruising battle. Williams WS12.
