This is why I think Burley's chacnes versus Robinson are so good. Sugar talks about being "afraid to punch" against Kid G he was so paralysed by KG's counter-punching abilities and so tied up by his feinting...imagine what Burley might do with him? Burley also had more speed on his hardest punches, not to mention more power.

As for a fight between KG and Burley, that would be an absolute clinic.

It is a very very close fight IMO, im really impressed with Robinson at the minute i think he controlls the fight with a jab well and his combinations are superb.

Like you say Gavilan made Ray think about throwing and making him abit cautious to throw and chances are Burley can do that. Although Ray is IMO the best offensive fighter that lived he needs to be able to get his combinations off to be effective.

You can make a good case for either guy and im sitting on the fence

as for teh Kid vs Burley that is mouth watering

Burley was the number one contender to armstrongs welterweight title, how do you see burley vs hank going?

Well Hank was an awesome monster even at WW, but Burley was so strong, so accurate, and very powerful. For comparisons sake he certainly got the better of Zivic, who had some stuff in common with Henry and who relieved Armstrong of his title.

Burley had trouble with his hands around the time of the Armstrong-Zivic fight and was not in contention for the Zivic spot in that fight for this reason. But having said that, it's suppposedly the case that Armstrong's people repeatedly told Burley's man that Armstrong wasn't defending his title at WW again and that he was dropping down to LW. Armstrong wouldn't have ducked Louis, but it seems his people were not keen on Burley (for a variety of reasons, but Burley's talent most certainly amongst them). Zivic's was probably the more blatant duck given what had gone between them before and Fritzie's supposed buy out of the Burley contract.

He has consistently been compared to a identical version of Roy Jones. AJ Nelson has gone on record for it. From what i've seen of Burley I can fully understand the comparison.

Smith was a dangerous but strange man. In another unfilmed effort against Moore, he lept out of the ring and did a runner for the dressing room after taking a bit of a hiding.

Supposedly. But i'm afraid i don't have a source, it's one of those half remembered things. Supposedly Moore was owning him and he was just getting nowhere. There was something where he was appealing to the referee or trying to talk to his corner and Moore just ****ing flattened him  Smith beat the count, calmly climbed out of the ring and bolted for the dressing room.
