Cokes. Why's that so far fetched? We all know Mayweather has passed his prime; he was best at 130lbs probably. Cokes was a lineal welterweight champion.

Sorry, i thought you were talking P4P and Napoles. TBH i can't see him beating Mayweather, even at 147, but yeah Cokes is a good fighter and would be in the mix at 147.

From 39 to 42 Burley had 27 fights ,losing just one to Lh Jimmy Bivins, his resume stands up pretty well I think, he went 3 out of 6 with Williams but, floored Williams 3 times in their first encounter, only to lose the dec,in 39,Burley beat Williams two more times ,stopping him in one fight, they ended up tied at 3 each with a further fight being a no contest. At 5 9 ,Burley was really an over stuffed Welter,,I think Johnson would be too strong and have the ring smarts to negate Burleys talents, its difficult to no how good Burley was the footage is so sparse, but solid wins over the likes of Cocoa Kid by u dec after flooring him 3 times give us some idea of his quality, I dont beleive he is overated ,Robinson was quoted as saying he had doubts that he could beat Burley,we have to take a lot on trust ,like the opinions of his opponents.

He actually threw his shoulder in the ninth round of this fight whilst ahead on the cards. Burley was outboxed and would have needed the KD's to reign in the decision, but he boxed the final rounds one handed to drop a close one.

Burley was leading the cards for this one too, and it's impossible to find a newspaper report that thinks the No Contest was justified. There are totally uncollaborated stories that this was done in order to protect gambled money.

I read a quote from Robinson, before he came to the welterweight title: "I don't think i'll be fighting Burley anytime soon - he's to good for me right now."

Peak for peak is a different matter of course, but the first time they tried to make this match I think you would have had to have installed Burley as favourite, for whatever that is worth.
